Kenny slumped forward over the helm console, staring out the viewscreen at the warp tunnel they were flying through. He was supposed to be paying attention to the helm console, but really, nothing had happened for several hours. One of the worst parts of Omega-shift was how quiet the whole ship was. Most hours of the day, there’d be crewmen coming on and off the bridge to do maintenance, calls from the various departments asking for things, and just in general a more lively atmosphere. The lights weren’t dimmed on the bridge like they were in a lot of the main corridors around the ship when it was in night mode.

In general, the helmsman was bored, and there wasn’t much that would fix that.

Lt. Isaac Black was in the captains chair he was reading a pad he looked up “ Everything ok up there” he asked the helm.
