“Yes, ma’am,” Liz took up the nearest vacant console and pulled up the things she had running in Intel so she could continue to monitor them and await specific instructions from the XO.

Sec/Intel

“Would you like me to pilot the shuttle, Captain, or stay up here?” Fleet asked, looking over his shoulder with a small grin. The young Lt. certainly had more cheek than a lot of officers, but he still followed the chain of command. He was just a little more confident.

Fleet, Helm

“Go ahead Lieutenant,” he said as he gestured for Fleet to head for the shuttle bay.

“Lt Prescott, I need your expertise in parsing all of the data coming up from the surface. We are looking at a supposedly abandoned military base, that is giving off a lot of energy. The second team is going to head that way to investigate. But we are trying to see if there are any rumors about what is going on with that base. Think you are up to the task?”

Cmdr. McKnight - XO

Baumann looked at the Captain and then simply walked to Prescott. “Monitor all frequencies and if you get any… and I mean any… information on who is fighting down there, relay it to me in text. And keep comparing that energy signature to the ship’s library. Use the science team to assist.” And with that, he turned and headed to his quarters. He was going to need some tools and toys for this.

Once he was out of sight of anyone, he shook his head and sighed heavily. “Töricht.” was the only word that escaped his lips.

Baumann, Intel

Ari’s brow rose as Baumann gave more orders to Prescott. She understood the reason, but it still bothered her he hadn’t at least been polite and respectful about it. She chalked it up to his time away. More had changed than just his body. His mind had changed as well. Sometimes it was more than impressive. Sometimes it was troublesome. Sometimes, like now, it was both. She watched him walk out and shook her head.

Glancing at the XO, she nodded. “You have the bridge.” She then headed out shortly behind the Commander and headed to change and gather her own gear.

Fleet paged one of the other Helm-operators and set the Helm on auto-pilot in the meantime. You didn’t have to cover helm every moment, but it was good to have someone nearby. Jenkins arrived on the next turbolift after the CO left, and the two Pilots did a little high five exchange as they passed one another.

Fleet, Helm

“Yes Captain,” Roger said, logging out of his station. He already had an idea that she would be calling on him for the away team, but he still felt a little nervous for his first mission in his new leadership role.

Melissa heard her name from where she was standing “Aye ma’am. I’ll have a couple of extra MACOs go with me.” She said

“Well Ensign, it looks like you and me,” Jonathan said as he settled into the center seat. “What do you need at this moment?”

Cmdr. McKnight - XO

“Yes, Sir,” she responded as Baumann had given her the orders. As he departed, she glanced at the CO and XO to see if they would be countermanded. When they weren’t, she turned back to the console to listen to the comms and feel the silence settle on the bridge as everyone departed.

Prescott watched the others go and the XO settle into his seat. Guessing his remark was to the Helm replacement, she didn’t comment. Instead, she went back to scouting the areas the away teams were going to and absently wondered why the Captain wasn’t just beaming down. The shuttle would be hard pressed to obscure. And with a military presence as heavy as it was, if it was taken, getting it back would be almost impossible. It wasn’t like the Bonnie would be able to beam the shuttle back up.

As she hummed absently, she worked on locations for the teams to settle and continued to monitor the transmissions on the ground. She was sure with a war on this level, they would be aware the stars in the sky had changed. She just had to find out who was talking about it and follow it from there.

Sec/Intel

Isaac was at his station going over all data. He was sure that if anything happened he can help from there. He was keeping a few long range scans going every 15 min so nothing can get the jump on them.

Johnathan looked around and took note of the crew coming in to replace the departing bridge crew. They still had work to do on the Bonnie to support the away team, and hopefully prevent some sort of disaster.

“Lt Black. See if you can parse through the communications to get a better idea of the situation in the areas both away teams are heading for. Lieutenant Prescott, work with the science teams. I want to know more about the energy signature we are picking up at the supposedly abandoned base.

“And helm, keep us in a high orbit for now. I want to stay out of range of those missiles.”
