“Lt. Wendell, I’m just reporting that I found someone to help me,” Fil said. “But before we start, I need to know the specifics on how to set up the lab. Any help you can give me will be very appreciated.”

“Oh?” Wendell asked. He put down his freshly replicated mug of coffee. “Okay, then. Let’s see what you have.”

Ooc: Your posts are getting better! As you should know by now, this is a role playing site. Not a “you write the next paragraph all in prose” type of game. But interaction with others is the key.
Go thru other ships. Take a look at their posts.

Here, you can only post for your own character or your npc’s or NE’s. The other players, or the gm, gets to reply. In the case of the gm, that’s who’s going to tell you the results of all of your actions. Just like a table top rpg.

“I was thinking about converting one of our unused general science labs into a dedicated xenobiology lab,” Wendell said. “It would already be on the same deck as the rest of the labs. We’d just take the current lab out of mothballs and add whatever equipment that you need. Within reason.”

Ooc: Did you see how I changed the topic title of this thread? Location - Action is pretty much how we do it. Some CO’s do things a bit differently.

“The new Xeno-bio lab is proceeding as schedule.” Fil said proudly.

“So, are we redoing one of the unused science labs?” Wendell curiously asked. “I mean, it’d be easy enough to convert an existing lab.”

CSO

“We are redoing an unused lab, sir. It’s coming along fine.” Fil said. “I’ve got security involved because of the force fields we would need to protect any projects we may have.”

“Part of the problem is getting used to how the chain of command works,” Wendell said. “We need to get final approval on this. What does that mean? We need the CMO and CE to sign off on it. Which, I don’t see as really being a problem. Unless they get left out of the project altogether.”

He continued, “Then it goes to the XO and the CO. Who can just as easily say, no. That’s because we’re not on a dedicated science ship. This is a top of the line battle cruiser! So I have to be able to make the proposal to them in a way that they’ll agree to divert resources to the biolab.”

“I understand, sir. I will await for the decision. So, what should I do in the meantime?” Fil asked to his CO.
