Cain took a seat in his chair and glanced at the PaDD in his hand. All major repairs completed was the final line on it. Looking around the bridge, he said, “Everyone ready for a quick jump around the area to ensure the ship holds together?”

“Yes, sir.” The CAG was on the bridge for the shakedown, expecting no major flight ops and tired of the view from the fighter bay. “All fighters are secured in the bay.”

Serrovi looked over her shoulder and said, Sir, I have been waiting to get back out there” and tapped a few buttons.

“I agree.”, Cain replied. Cain then looked at the XO and said, “Number 1, shall we see what she’s got?”

Nyx had taken up a space standing to the Captain’s right with hands clasped behind her. “Yes, Sir.” This was the moment she’d been waiting for, to see what her newly assigned ship could do.

Sherrovi looked back towards the Captain from the Helm and said, “Sir, we have been cleared for departure from the Starbase.” and went back to tapping buttons in preparation for departure.

Cain looked at Sherrovi and said, “Very good.”

As Cain looked toward his new Executive Officer, he could see the anticipation in her eyes. Cain chuckled to himself remembering his first time in her position and said, “Number 1, why don’t you take us out.” and sat back in his chair watching how the XO commanded the ship and crew.

One side of Qyra’s mouth lifted in a smile. ‘This was it.’ “Helm, thrusters ready, 1/4 impulse power. Bridge prepare to leave spacedock. Once we are underway, set our engines at warp 5–let’s see what this new refit is capable of.” There wasn’t an exact destination yet. They were just going to clear the cobwebs and the shrink wrap on the new and old equipment.

Sara heard about warp five started to head to the turbolift. “Don’t give me to many bumps.” She said as she was heading back to engineering.

John sat in the vacant seat at the captain’s left typically reserved for the counselor and leaned back, throwing one leg slightly over the other. “Let’s see indeed.”

“And hope we, uh, don’t get stuck in the Alpha quadrant. Or get stranded in 21st century San Francisco. Or come into contact with a race of godly beings who view us pets at best.” Rado listed. It started off as a joke, yet all of those thing could happen. Prophets, He thought, why did I sign up for this?

She heard that as she was getting in. “Like I said. Don’t give me too many bumps. I want to make sure we come from this Shake Down Cruise with no damages along the way.” She said.

“I will try not to break her apart.” Cain chuckled back to the Chief Engineer. After a moment, Cain said, “Number 1, lets go have a chat, Mr. Rado, you have the conn.” and stood and walked towards the ready room.

She nodded and smiled and chuckled back with the captain. “Yes sir.” She said stepping into the lift and stared to the computer. “Engineering.” She said to the computer as the doors slid shut she was happy with herself.

Did the Captain just say that he had the conn? Rado swallowed nervously as he slowly left his station and approached the captain’s chair. Rado really hoped nothing would go haywire. He was embarrassed to say it, but he could never seem to pass the Kobayashi Maru at the Academy, no matter how hard he tried. Rado figured it must have super easy, considering that people generally seemed somewhat confused whenever he would share his inability to beat the test.

He sat down in the chair, his nervousness not abated. “Gal urakani, Gainn. Gal urakani.” He whispered to himself in Bajoran, trying to calm himself.

Lovejoy ends up leaving and is now heading to the Engine room. Where she belongs in and she is very happy to have joined. She got out and started to work in engineering and didn’t stop.

Rado sat quietly, unsure of what to say or do while in the chair. “Can I, uh, get a diagnostic report, please?” He anxiously requested to anyone who could run it.

OOC: okay people on the bridge, you need to write something. The CO and XO are in a private meeting and are not there. You can write that your character is thinking about something, or how pretty the stars are or how they are going to flirt with someone in the bar later…anything, but you need to post. The new prez and vice prez are going to be cracking down on the AWOLs, so it would be good if we didn’t give them anything to look at on the Memorial.
