Shortly after leaving the Counselor’s Office, Sara Lovejoy stepped back into the corridor, the soft hiss of the doors closing behind her. She paused briefly, taking in a slow breath before resuming her duties. Her reflection caught for a moment in the polished surface of the bulkhead — a reminder of her steady composure and the calm gained from the session.

With renewed focus, Sara began making her way through the ship’s passageways, continuing her scheduled check-ins. The gentle hum of the USS Memorial’s engines followed her as she moved from section to section, acknowledging passing crew members with a courteous nod or a brief smile. Each stop along her route offered an opportunity to engage with officers under her command — ensuring morale remained high and operations continued smoothly.

She took note of the activity on each deck, observing the quiet efficiency of the crew as they carried out their assignments. Her presence, though informal, brought a reassuring sense of leadership; she made a point to listen, offering brief words of encouragement where needed.

As she approached her next department, Sara straightened her posture and adjusted her uniform, ready to continue her round of check-ins with the same professionalism and attentiveness that defined her service aboard the USS Memorial.

Cmdr Nyx was in the ready room, having relieved the CO for a few hours while he took some personal time. “Come.” She called out. When the doors hissed open, she looked up from the desk and saw a woman matching the photo of their new CE. “You must be Lt Lovejoy. Please, have a seat.”

She came in and sat down. “Yes commander I am. It’s a wonderful experience for me to actually come and be the Chief Engineer aboard this fine ship of ours.” She said with a smile.

“Captain Nightroad isn’t available at the moment, or he would also be present. That means it’s just you and me.” Nyx sat behind the desk and crossed her legs. “I’ve been over your personnel file, but I’d like you to tell me a little about yourself and your experience.”

She sat there with some pondering time. She then replied. “Well if you’ve noticed I’ve been an engineering officer and Chief of engineering before which should be in my service record. I’m a good person to have a Chief engineer. I work well with others. I am a betazoid. And honestly, if you need things fixed I’m your person. I am willing to fix anything and keep this ship going without her falling apart in pieces.” She said smiling and nodding.
