Zubreana had been making working her way through her daily security sweeps when she noticed someone standing at the door of the counselor. Trying not to scare the young officer she spoke before she approached “The counsellor isn’t in right now.”

Taniel did get taken by surprise, but thankfully he didn’t jump.

He turned to face a woman wearing the yellow uniform, with lieutenant pips on her collar. “Oh, well,” he stepped away from the door slightly. “Thank you, Lieutenant.”

She took the last two steps to close the distance between them. She had learnt long ago not to sneak up on people, and had to do so the hard way.

He wiped his palms on his uniform and gave her a quick grin. “I’m not going to pretend I’m disappointed. Never been a fan of counsellors, anyway.”

Taniel realised he had not even introduced himself. “I’m Taniel Lox; new doctor on the ship. Just ticking all the boxes so I can actually go and do my job … flirting with the nursing staff.” He laughed. “I’m pleased to meet you, Lieutentant …?”

She giggled as she extended her hand to him “Zubreana Azon. Just dont flirt to much I dont wanna have to put you in the brig for making a fool of your self.”

Lox took the hand and smiled. “Pleased to meet you. I promise to behave myself … most of the time.”

“I don’t think that’s a human name, though I might be wrong. I’m a Betazoid.” He shrugged. “And I get confused with humans all the time. You’d think they were the blue-print for the whole galaxy, at times.”

“No I am not human” she said with a slight grin “Im El’Aurian. Since we’re unsure of when a counsellor will be arriving how about a tour of the ship”
