As the Excalibur fired on the Manhatten, various power relays exploded across the ship. In engineering, the damage reports started to come in across all systems. The computer did its best to prioritise the various reports, refining it down to two options:
There was an imbalance in the antimatter injectors that, if left unchecked, could result in the warp core safeties cutting warp power.
The shield grid over the dorsal section of the ship was fluctuating asa result of three shield arrays that were operating at reduced power.

The Chief Engineer looked at the diagnostics. “Let’s focus on the warp core safeties; the last thing we need is to lose power in this fire fight.”

Suddenly, a torpedo from the Excalibur hit the Memorial directly on the secondary hull, causing EPS conduits across multiple decks explode. Several of the ones in Main Engineering ruptured, causing plasma fires to spew out of the fissures. Unfortunately the Chief Engineer was caught directly in one of the plasma discharges. Screaming in agony, she dropped to the ground, before going limp and lifeless; the smell of burning flesh filled the compartment.
