Tralla walked alongside her husband holding his hand as they headed for sickbay Tralla hoped KT would not be to busy and could see them about what they would need to do to conceive a child

If there was one thing BJ hated; it was waiting in medical places. He had done it a couple of times in the past. At least this time it was for something that he was looking forward to enjoying. His heart was pounding a little faster than normal. But, they were looking into becoming parents. He had a series of emotions running through him. BJ wasn’t sure if he should say anything yet. He didn’t want to push Tralla away from her decision.

Tralla looked at her husband and smiled as they waited “What’s wrong honey I know you and your tells” she whispered

Was he that transparent. Could she see through him that much. “Do you think I can be a good father?”

As the pair talked, their conversation would be interrupted by KTs voice. However it would be uncharacteristically raised and steeped in anger and annoyance “NE ensign Carrington, I am a Lieutenant in star fleet and the Chief medical officer of this vessel. You will address me as such and not like a hypo spray. And if you come in to my sickbay and act like this again. I will report you to your DH and if necessary the captain. Do you understand?” KT barked sternly

“Yes Ma’am” came a startled response from a young sounding voice.

“Good. Then you’re dismissed” KT replied as a very scared looking engineer came rushing round the corner. Barely acknowledging the captain as he rushed passed terrified.

A few moments alter KT came round the corner . Seeing the captain she smiled and came over to her “Captain, Commander what can I do for you?” she asked her tone respectful and warm. As if nothing just happened

“Please say that wasn’t one of mine.”

She had just been about to answer his question when the outburst happened “Lieutenant Mind giving us an idea of what just happened there?” she asked clearly she was interested in keeping the ship in shape “We do need to discuss something with you though as well” she sighed

KT Sighed “Don’t worry commander he’s not one of yours. He’s an engineer, fresh out of the academy, from what I can gather his family were very high up and powerful. His Mother and father where working on AI and cybernetic projects. But since the federation made contact with my people both interest and resources have decreased. It seems I am reminder of his families misfortune, and because he’s grown up around machines and robots he seems to struggle to see me as anything other than that. I didn’t want to reprimand him, but there comes point when you have no choice.” she said shaking her head.

“But this is his last chance to be better. Or as I said I’ll have no choice but to go higher about him” She added as she began stirring Tralla and BJ to her office.

“I see well I would recommend bringing this up with our CE and let them work on that with that officer just so things are on the level” Tralla said as they walked in she made sure the door was shut and they had privacy before speaking again

“What me and my husband here wanted to actually talk to you about is that we wish to have children together and given we are different species we will need some help in that department” she said getting straight to the point

BJ quietly thought of all the things he could assign this officer if he was his. He also waited for what the doctor had to say. He only wanted a healthy wife and a healthy child. That was all he really wanted.

KT listened to the captain as she spoke Offering them chairs in silence. By the time the captain had finished talking KT had sat down. “Well good news. Babies from different races have become more and more common. My patron Captain jade jones even has a half Andorian child. How ever before we begin I will Have to ask you a coupe cultural questions, Captain.” She said her tone still warm but professional.

“Now as we know there are two ‘Factions’ when it comes to Andorians. The traditionalist and the progressives. So i have to ask Captain which do you belong to?” She asked “If you where raised Traditonalist then I have to also ask. Your daughter was she born of two Andorians or four?” she added after a short pause.

“Jade is one of my best friends!” she said smiling “My daughter and hers are best friends! My clan The Zoarhi is a traditional clan and so am I My current daughter Lilith was born from a Pairing of 4 Andorians Though my bond mates are all dead now” she said sadly “That is why my people have such a hard time keeping our population growing” she added with a sigh

KT listened to Tralla and nodded “I won’t lie being a traditionalist and having your child with three other will make things a little more difficult as your body and physiology are geared toward multiply partner births. Added to the fact that Andorian reproductive systems are far more robust then humans ones.” she said simply as she turned her compuer on. KT didnlt need to use it to make notes but she found that organics where more comfortable if she appeared to be using it, then her just staring at them as she made notes on her memory drives.

“That being said, we have plenty of options., From medication, to artificial insemination” she added after a short pause ” Have there ben an methods you have been looking into?” she asked.

She looked to BJ to see what his reaction was at the moment “Honestly we have not looked into how that’s why we came to you for what options we would have though Personally I would like to conceive as naturally as possible” she added

BJ was taking this all in. He did realize how complicated Andorian pregnancy could be. But, all he wanted was his wife healthy during the process. “Which is the most healthy way for her. That’s all I want. I want her to be healthy.”

she smiled at him taking his hand and squeezing it gently showing that she was touched by that though

“All treatments I would recommend are healthy. But all carry risks some more interesting then others “I have three options for you. the first is medication, medication design to increase your libidos and promote stronger healthier sexual necessities. The downside is that it could cause both of you to be overly aroused. The last thing the ship needs is the CO and the COS getting distracted on the bridge. And of course there is no guarantee your sperm would be strong enough” she she spoke KT put a padd on the table it outlined the treatment and the medication involved.

“The second is gene therapy. This would be used to balance your reproductive systems. So we’d weaken your womb slightly to better allow the less hardy Human sperm to reach an egg. While at the same time strengthening your sperm so it could survive the robust Andorian system. However we would have to keep a very close eye on your child, if you took this route. As by weakening your womb it may, even though it is very unlikely make it a more taxing pregnancy” she said simply but warmly as she put down a second Padd

“That last treatment I would suggest it artificial insemination. I would take an egg from your self captain qnd sperm from you Commander. I would then combine them in the lab and implant the fertilized egg into the Captain’s womb. Where the natural cycle would carry on as normal. But the treatment runs the risk of your womb rejecting the embryo.” she said as she put the third Padd down.

Tralla listened to all the options “Well I actually don’t think we need to worry about the ship right now given we are in Dry dock for overhaul at the moment Could the Drug and the Gene Therapy both be combined? or would that not be particularly a safe idea?” she asked

BJ continued to take this all in. He was in on any of the ideas. His wife had made an intriguing idea. “I’m good with anything right now.”
