As the runabout prepared for departure from Starfleet Academy, Andromeda stood by the viewport, her heart pounding with excitement and nervousness. She was about to embark on her first assignment aboard the USS Memorial, a moment she had been eagerly anticipating since she first set foot on the academy grounds.

Beside her, Asher stood with a calm demeanor, his experience evident in the way he carried himself. He had spent the past two years teaching at the academy, guiding young cadets like Andromeda toward their futures in Starfleet.

Their paths crossed unexpectedly as they boarded the runabout, both carrying their belongings for the journey ahead. Andromeda recognized Asher immediately, recalling the counseling sessions she had attended during her time at the academy.

“Lieutenant, Miller,” Andromeda greeted with a smile, extending her hand in greeting. “It’s good to see you again. I didn’t expect to be sharing this journey with you.”

Your enthusiasm is infectious.” Asher had known that Andromeda one of his former cadets, or at least on her knew would be joining him to the memorial. It would be a fascinating opportunity to see how cadets transform from the academy into regular service and how they adapt their lives accordingly and the ability afforded to him by this new assignment was certainly fortunate.
