She smirked at him. “Appearances can be deceiving,” she said with a glimmer in her eyes. If nothing else, today might end up being more interesting than she anticipated. Faye, of course, knew who he was, but the how and why of that was not public, nor would it be anytime soon. Looking over her shoulder briefly, she gave something of a shrug. “Lights are all on in here. Besides, if you checked the room assignment records, you’d note that this lab is sealed to non-essential personnel, of which there’s… what, three of us? Two of whom have access but don’t actually work in here.”

She had him there, in his haste to get away from the bridge he hadn’t checked the room assignment. “Even though this ship is a science vessel and glorified server room with its three dedicated decks to the core alone, I wouldn’t class security as non-essential especially when they’re conducting sensitive security checks. All that side disabling the manual override is against health and safety” Luke stopped short, had he seriously just pulled the health and safety card out. “Since the door is open and the lights are on, you wouldn’t mind if I made peaceful enetery and had a quick sweep of the room.” He moved as if to preempt her acceptance, as if she had the choice.

Faye didn’t move, nor did she show any signs of being at all intimidated. “I agree that security systems are essential, and I can assure you that this room has that all taken care of. Now, I don’t know if you know who I am, but I do know who you are. We could try this again and exchange names and jobs titles and maybe that would help the situation?” Probably not at this rate, but it was hard to say how he would react. Faye didn’t exactly feel the need to be nice here. After all, he kicked her door! But she was being perfectly reasonable, at least as far as Faye went.
