Okay, she could do this, right? It was just a casual invitation since she felt that things had gone in a very awkward direction since the incident in the jefferies tube. Ulterior motives aside, it was much easier for her to be social on a smaller scale and, well, she knew these three people. They weren’t strangers to her and were (mostly) well aware of the often ticking time-bomb that was Faye Calloway. So she sent the first message with a grin, thinking in the very least it would be sort of funny:
To: Lieutenant Commander Wynter, Maxwell and Lieutenant Wynter, Jasmine.
Re: Pizza Night
From Lieutenant Calloway, Faye.Okay, so it’s about time I paid up, right Max? I clearly owe you pizza even though it wasn’t my fault. Still I can admit when I’ve lost the bargain. And Jas, well, I can’t very well leave you out of the fun (or torture, depending on your point of view), now can I? I might invite another person as well, so we can evaluate my pizza making skills fairly.
Friday. 1900 Hours. My place.

She hit send and smirked. Okay, it was either trying to hard, or funny. She never could quite tell, but at least she had a reasonable expectation they would come. If not, well… this was going to be awkward.

Re: Pizza Night
From Lieutenant Calloway, Faye. So, long story short, Max Wynter and I had a bargain about my little installation project. Which I lost and now I owe him freshly made pizza. Lucky for him (and his wife), I actually can cook. It occurred to me as well that I owe you something for having a part of ship blow up even if it wasn’t actuallymy fault. Still, you’re more than welcome to join us. If you’re worried about food poisoning, don’t worry I’ve got a doctor on hand.
Friday. 1900 Hours. My place.

Her finger hovered over the screen and was about to erase it all and not bother. But she squeezed her eyes and told the computer to send it. It was gone, into the abyss of data. Too late to change her mind now. Well she could, but then they would all know she had chickened out.
Ah well, she’d been proven a fool before and the stakes on this evening were relatively low.

The comms remained quiet for a few moments, then a text-only reply came through.
