Valeria straightened her jacket for the sixth time and rang the chime to the CO’s ready room. Oh how she was looking forward to meeting him. Well, strictly speaking she was looking forward to having him in sickbay… she imagined it now… * Captain, would you mind if I cut you up to examine you? I will stitch you back together very neatly, swear! * she chuckled to herself at the unthinkable scenario. She had always had a great imagination for how a situation could be made a lot worse… it was one of her many useless talents.Dr Doctra, CMO
“Enter,” replied a gravelly voice from inside.
The doors opened to reveal what at first glance appeared to almost be a museum dedicated to late 20th century military items. Machine guns, automatic pistols, military plaques and framed awards lined the walls, including numerous Purple Hearts, a Medal of Honor and a Bronze star. Also, on the walls were framed pictures of Army military units. If one looked close enough, they would recognize a younger Capt. Colter with various military rank insignia on the uniforms.
Colter’s favorite item in the collection sat by itself, almost reverently. It was an US Army M24 sniper rifle. The weapon he used to get him safely through the Eugenics War.
Seated behind the desk was Capt. DaVinci Colter himself. A large muscular man whose every muscle was in perfect symmetry. Had he been dressed in ancient Roman garb, carrying a sword and shield, he would be the epitome of a Roman gladiator.

CO-USS ManhattanValeria walked in slowly. She tried to keep her amber and her green eye trained on the Captain but she seemed to have walked into a museum. For a second she was distracted by the antiques in the room that immediately peaked her curiosity, but she ripped her attention back to the really very impressive specimen of a human male in front of her and wondered whether he had purchased them when they were new. That thought made her blush, accentuating her Trill spots slightly.
“Lt. Valeria Doctra, reporting for duty sir.” she said in her deep timbre voice.
Dr Doctra, CMO
DaVinci stod from behind his desk making his presence seem even more impressive.
“Lt. Doctra, welcome to the Manhattan. Please, have a seat.”
His voice was a deep, gravelly baritone. His words delivered slowly and forcefully, with a warrior’s authority, restrained anger, and an almost primal intensity.
“I’m glad you’re here. We’ve been without a chief medical office for too long. How are you getting settled?”
