‘Even after over 20 years, your star fleet is strange and contradictory’ Squared stated as we stepped off the shuttle from the USS Albany. The Albany, had ferried Celador from Starbase 876 to Starbase 243. The the last two years Celador had been assigned as security chief to outpost 590, a small insignificant outpost near the Typhon expanse. While he had gotten a promotion to Lieutenant Commander, nevertheless, after the USS Saracen was decommissioned he had been assigned to that outpost instead of a new ship.

‘I’m just glad to be off outpost, Star fleet wasting your talents on such an insignificant outpost, that bar fight was the most difficult thing you handled there.’ Squared continued to Celador’s thoughts as walked through the shuttle bay.
‘Calling that a bar fight is degrading to bar fights’ Cel mentally replied back, his facial outwardly unchanged as the conversation runs through his head.

‘I don’t understand what we could have done since being released from prison to have warranted such an assignment?’ Squared continued
‘Penance’ Celador replied simply as he made his way through the corridors of the starbase.

His orders, were simple, arrive at Starbase 243 on the USS Albany and head to Office 523. That was it, nothing else. The orders were from star fleet command, but were generic orders signed by a Commander he had never heard of. His replacement at Outpost 590, arrived and he was given two days to bring her up to speed on the outpost before having to catch his first leg off the outpost to the starbase. Three days later here he was.

He arrived at the outer room to Office 523. A young Yeomen was sitting at the desk.

“Good Morning, I have orders to report here immediately upon debarking from the USS Albany . I am Lieutenant Commander Celador Theinna” I explain, the data padd in my hand containing my orders.

“The Admiral is waiting for you.” She gestured to the main office door and returned her attention to her computer. Celador looked at her for a moment before turning at heading to the office.

‘Might be a trap, maybe they finally decided to kill us.’ Squared said sarcastically as he entered the office. As Celador entered he saw his old commanding officer.

“Admiral Washburn ” Celador said, a small smile on his face as he saw his old commanding officer. He failed to notice anyone else in the room.

Capt. DaVinci Colter turned from the bookcase he had been browsing when Thienna entered the room. “For someone that was such a screw up they weren’t supposed to rise above ensign, it looks like you’ve done pretty good for yourself, Cmdr. Thienna.”

He stepped forward and offered his hand. “Good to see you, old friend.”

Cel straightens up and smiles. “Captain,” he says greeting in his voice. “Likewise, been a long time since the Saracen.” He takes his hand shrugging slightly. “Screw up is a matter of perspective, Captain. I prefer ‘unconventional.’” A dry note of humor colors his voice, though his eyes flick briefly past Colter, taking in the rest of the office before returning. “Though I admit, Outpost 590 wasn’t exactly the promotion I was expecting.”

‘Careful,’ Squared thought, ‘this is starting to feel less like a courtesy call and more like an intervention.’

Celador ignored the comment, keeping his attention on Colter. “I take it you had something to do with me standing here instead of processing requisition forms for another two years.”
