Ka’sora laughed lightly at the sheer delight he expressed. It was one of those small things, even if it was done for comedic effect, that made her gaze a little bit more deeply at the man.
He started to offer the spoon to Ka’Sora, then quickly stoppe. “You’re not allergic to nuts, are you?” (OOC: And no, that is not a loaded question!!)

She shook her head. “I don’t believe so. I’ve have nuts from different planets before, sna dso far so good. Though any unknown food is a potential allergen.” Ka’sora smirked. “We just have to experiment and see what happens.”~Ensign Ka’sora
He moved the spoon back towardher mouth and added, “Perhaps if this experiment goes well, we can continue our experimentation into other areas?”
Ka’sora’s ears shifted position honing in more deeply on him, parting her lips a little.
A corner of his mouth turned up into a grin, as he slid thespoon into Ka’Sora’s anticipating mouth. . . . .
Lt. Cmdr. Sebastian d’Aramis
CIO-USS ManhattanHer golden eyes were alight as Ka’sora closed her lips around the spoon and pulled back, the nut now in her mouth. She chewed and though there was a crunch, the nut was creamy, rich tasting. It was different than the mixed taste in the drink. On their own, these nuts were quite delightful.
Swallowing, she smiled. “I like that better than the drink, actually.” Ka’sora leaned in over the table just a little towards him. “And you make an interesting proposal. But I would caution you Sebastian. I’m not a source, or prize, or anything of the like. And don’t think I don’t know how some view my culture’s stance on relationships. I went to the Academy. I know the misconceptions. Just because I may not yearn to pair up the way others might, does not mean I don’t have feelings. It also doesn’t mean that how and whom I choose to do personal explorations with is one, any one else’s business, and two, an indication that there will be future ones. I know you like the cryptic methods, but hopefully I’ve made myself very clear?”
~Ensign Ka’sora
“Crystal,”he replied with a grin. “You are not a curiosity to me. Nor a conquest. If I implied otherwise, intentionally or not, then I apolgize..” His gaze held hers steadily. “What interests me is you—the mind behind the eyes and getting to know you. Also, cryptic methods are only useful when both parties are enjoying the puzzle. Otherwise, it becomes. . .frustrating?”
Sebastian dug his spoon deep into the glass and withdrew a number of peanuts this time. Offering the spoon to her again, he added, “So, with feelings taken into account, boundaries understood. No assumptions. No expectations beyond the moment in front of us. I can work with that.”
His grin transformed into a full-blown smile. . . . .
Lt. Cmdr. Sebastian d’Aramis
CIO-USS ManhattanShe enjoyed him. Ka’sora wasn’t expecting to, but the simply fact of the matter was that he was a puzzle, and she did have far too much curiosity for her own good. Her curiosity was to understand him beneath the surface flirtations.
The Zaharan reached out and plucked one, and then another peanut off the spoon. “See, for me, you are a curiosity. Not in a scientific way, though with me there will always be a little of that since it’s my whole life. But you are very much like others I have encountered before, but my instincts say there is more there. Call it a social experiment, if you will. You’re so guarded with anything below the surface, and I am not just open but in a position to be teaching everyone I encounter about my people. Somewhere in the messy middle of us is something interesting, don’t you think?”
~Ensign Ka’sora
“I agree whole-heartedly,” Sebastian replied, while scooping out the last of the peanuts from his glass. “And I think it is going to be worthwhile and enjoyable discovering what that ‘something interesting’ might be.”
“To be fair, I should warn you. As a sociologist, you’ll have your work cut out for you. I am a riddle, wrapped in a mystery, inside an enigma, that is surrounded by conundrums. . .”
He grinned over the edge of the glass while finishing off the milkshake.

She snorted as a smirk slipped onto her face. “Everyone likes to think they are more mysterious than they actually are. Many people are incredibly layered, I agree. But I don’t know, Sebastian, sometimes the presumption of mystery is just a shroud. I’m pretty good at seeing past shrouds. At least with people who are in any way interested in spending time with me.” If they were on Zahara, the next part of the conversation would be easy, without fuss. But there seemed to be so many more nuances with some of the species, like Humans, in how they expressed certain ideas or feelings.
