Daggum nodded, but had a concerned look on his face. He moved to his feet and gently helped her to hers, and held her against him as he looked down at her. “Are you okay? I can take you to your room, if you need me to. I’m sure they can deliver the dessert. And I’m sorry if that was too much. I thought it would be something special…”
Daggum
Her expression shifted to dismay. “Oh, Dag, no! It was… is special.” How did she explain? “Oh Gem, you just gave me an incredible gift! One I’m not sure if I could have gotten any other way.” Arms wrapped around him, she all but beamed, exuding joy. “Dag! It didn’t hurt. Don’t you see? The wormhole… “She shook her head. “I’ve seen it before. And when I saw it just like this, when I was sooo happy here with you, it…” It was impossible, how did she convey this? “The minddumps always hurt, but sometimes it’s just a little and I carry on. Other times it’s been incapacitating, but that’s rare. They mucked around in my brain, Dag, but they also left stuff there.” She leaned in close, whispering so he alone could hear. “I’m starting to remember what I see in the dumps. It started in Alex’s office and he triggered my ability to remember. The computer is still trying to work out the math I wrote down,” she said with a grin. “That time I felt like I was dying, but this time? Look at me!” she said, her face alight.

Daggum looked at her and nodded. “Okay… but you will tell me if you don’t feel good, okay?” and he brushed her cheek with his fingers and then kissed her gently, pulling her into him. “And we are definitely getting dessert delivered. I have the sudden urge to share you with nobody else.” He smiled at her and then separated him from her and went to the divider and opened it slightly. A server immediately appeared and said “Sir? May I be of assistance?” Daggum smiled and said “Yes, please. Could you have our desserts delivered to my room, please? And please convey our gratitude to the kitchen. It was…” and he looked back at Faye with a smile of pure love.
“Life changing.”
Daggum
Faye matched his expression. “Definitely,” she breathed.
With the confirmation from the server, They were free to leave, so Faye gathered her leather fingerless gloves and her clutch and sought one special item: the capsule of scent still on her chain with her IDIC pendant. Twisting to top, the orange blossom and clove wafter out and Faye breathed it in. She didn’t need it, but it helped clear her head from the whirlwind that had just happened in her head. “Do you mind the smell?” she asked, her gaze flicking to Daggum with sudden inspiration.
