Daggum looked at her and shook his head and made a tsk-tsk-tsk sound. He set the bag on the sand and then opened it, pulling out two yoga mats and two water bottles.

“Oops,” she said with a sheepish grin.

He looked at Faye and said “My one and only love… I work in Logistics.” and then he laughed.

Faye laughed. “Computer, delete purple yoga mat,” she said with a wink at Dag. Moving over, she grabbed one of the mats he had brought for them and shook it out over the flattened sand. “So… yoga. How much do you do and what are you up for? I’m good for us to do our own thing, but I wasn’t sure if you had something in mind.” She had been doing it nearly daily since her rehab after the Romulans it had become a vital part of her life.

Daggum smiled and said “You do your thing, love. I’ll do mine.” He unfurled the other mat and spread it out several feet away. He looked at Faye and said “I love you.” and smiled and winked at her. He then faced the ocean and closed his eyes, taking several deep breaths. He then sat down on the mat and crossed his legs, sat with his back straight and his hands on his knees… and began meditating.

“I love you too,” she said softly, not wanting to disrupt him seeking peace. Tucking her IDIC pendant in her crop top, and slipping off her soft shoes, Faye moved over the top of the mat and grounded her feet. Hip width apart, she slowly aligned each part of her from the feet all the way to the top of her head. Reaching her fingers down she focused on a point of the beach ahead as she settled into mountain pose, feeling the energy in her body and the strength of it. From here she began a basic sun salutation.

Inhale. Her arms reached up and back slightly, fingers together and pointing to the sky. Exhale. Bending at the hips, her dove forward into a forward fold. Inhale. Half way life. Exhale. Planting her palms she kicked her right leg back grounding through her toes, then her left as well till she was in a plank. Hips back, heels slightly down, she felt her entire core come alive. Alive like the ocean. Alive like her. Inhale. Exhale. Inhale. She lowered herself to the mat slowly. Exhale. She shifted her weight to the tops of her feet and lifted her head and chest up, legs barely hovering over the mat as she created a gentle curve with her body. Upwards facing dog. Inhale. Back to to the balls of her feet. Exhale. Pulling her hips up and back, she settled into downward facing, her heels touching the mat and Faye slowly peddled it out, easing any of the tension in her calves and ankles. Then stillness. Inhale. Exhale. Inhale, Loud exhale, forced all the breath out through her lips. All the tension, the worries, the doubts. She blew them out and repeated her current affirmation: Inhale courage, exhale fear. Hips still high and hands still planted firmly, Faye slowly walked her feet forward to meet her hands, inhaling slowly as she did. Back in a forward fold, she exhaled, letting any tension flow out of her shoulders and neck, letting her head hang heavy and her arm crossed to cup the opposite elbow. Inhale. Exhale. Then she released her arms and rested her palms on her feet. Slowly, she rose up, her fingers dragging up her body as each vertebra aligned perfectly in place and she inhaled. Back in mountain pose, she exhaled, her eyes on the horizon.

It was only one sequence of a much longer practice she could do, but she took the moment to lower herself to the mat to sit, legs extended and hands on her thighs. Turning, she finally looked at Dag again, but this time there was calmness in her. She smiled.
