“Yes, I do,” Faye said with a grin, elated it went so smoothly this time. “But so are you, so it makes it easier. Nothing worse than a quick style of dance and someone who doesn’t know their left foot from their right.” Dropping her hands, she beelined back to the table for a sip of water.

“I actually really do like dancing. Just don’t have much of a reason to dance with someone, so my stuff is mostly solo freestyle types,” she said as she moved back over.

“Well, now you have reason to dance with someone else… me. At least until your time is taken up with other demands.” he said and gave her a crooked grin.

Faye tilted her head and smirked. “Why Cochrane, is that a not so subtle inquiry into my personal life?”

The next song came on and it was faster this time. “So now we are going to do the throw. You’ll drop and slide between my legs while holding onto my hands, then I’ll pull and swing you back, you’ll go up, and then land on your feet. Hard to do on carpet, but if we can do it here, the dance floor will be a piece of cake. Ready?”

While she had seen it in one of the demonstration videos she had watched, doing that move was going to be quite another thing. Faye gazed upwards slightly as she tried to visualize his words with the mechanics of the move and when she felt she had it she nodded. “Shoes aren’t too grippy, so it should be okay, she said with a nod and gleam in her eyes. “Okay, let’s do this”. Gone was the inevitable sadness from earlier, but while she had known it be a vital step in sharing her story, right now she was just having fun.
