Stepping up to the brigs doors Luke gave one last attempt of stopping blue from entering “Last chance to have an escort, beyond here the security system is disabled and the guard removed, I cant guarantee anything.” he handed Blue a small card it was to access the brig security system, “This gives you access to the brig controls, all of them and the override of the main door.”
“If anything happens, call” Luke nodded once before deciding it was his time to leave, “I hope you make more sense out of her than me.” And he left.
- Lt Luke Wyatt.
Cochrane looked at Wyatt and nodded. He then looked at Blue and said “We will be right outside if you need us. You have an hour, Commander. And I expect a full briefing for myself and Mr. Wyatt before you leave. Understood?”
Blue nodded and gave them a friendly smile. “Of course, Captain. Your ship and your rules. See you both when I am done.” and he stepped through the door and the two men outside heard the security locks engage once he was through.
Blue walked slowly towards the only occupied cell. When he reached the security field, he cleared his throat and said “Faye. You awake? We need to talk.”

She had heard the brig door slip open and her heart immediately had begun racing. But she took a moment, eyes closed, to steady her breath. “Sleep is futile,” she said darkly and she pressed the record button. Faye pushed herself to a sitting position and eyed the man and immediately was on her feet in tears. Regardless of who this person might or might not be, he looked like her Leroy Strickland and for the time being she had to treat him as such.
“Oh Leroy, it’s such a mess! You have to help me. I don’t understand what’s going on! You know me…” He had always looked out for her, always had her back. They knew things about each other they hadn’t shared with anyone. He also had had a way of calming her down that others hadn’t always had because he had gone through the trouble of learning all he could about her condition. It had always made him able to cut through the noise. She needed that right now… desperately.

“Easy… easy Faye. Relax. We’ll get it handled, ok? This won’t stand, and we will make sure that whoever is responsible is going to get theirs… alright? But you gotta get a grip, tell me what happened. And I need to know everything, Faye. Everyone you talked to, everyone who may know what you do outside of what the people here think. Talk to me. I’ll keep you safe… I always have, right?” he asked. His eyes showed genuine concern, his tone was caring and reassuring.

She inhaled deeply, allowed the breath to expand her chest fully the way she did when she did yoga. Faye nodded. “Always.” It had never ever been his fault the Romulans had captured her. Neither of them could have known that Nevol was being manipulated into learning all he could about the S.I. agent hanging out with the Reunification Movement. And neither of them could have predicted that he would then betray her and set her up to take the blame for the explosion on their orders.
Pacing felt good though, and despite the fact that calm would be better, she needed the movement to help her think. “I did everything you told me to. I followed their instructions. I kept my role secret despite how often I complained to you about how the orders didn’t make sense.” Here was the tricky part. If it really was Leroy and she lied to him right now, it could very well rip apart their working relationship and their friendship. But if this was imposter she risked a lot. She didn’t know what the right move was here, but she had to figure out what Leroy knew or didn’t know. She had to follow her gut. Her instincts had kept her alive for a long time now and she had to trust that. “And so I’ve kept going on, even after the accident in the jefferies tubes and people breathing down my neck about my work. But then a senior agent shows up telling me that Intelligence has suspicions about illicit activity. About my illicit activity.” She spun towards him, her stormy eyes ablaze with fury. “ME! The woman who survived the Tal Shiar! Who agreed to this new assignment on the Manhattan even though the idea of having secret orders made me feel ill. But you reassured me everything would be okay. That it wouldn’t be for too long. And now I’m being accused of sharing information with foreign parties. It’s fvadt and we both know it!”
But she drew back away from the forcefield, looking ashamed, tears slipping down her face. “And then I panicked. I did screw up, Leroy. I don’t even know what happened, but the next thing I knew I fired a phaser and ran. I just… I can’t do it again,” she said, chocking back a sob. “I can’t be the woman who is innocent but no one will believe. I can’t be a prisoner again. Imirrhlhhse!! she cursed in Rihannsu. Nope, it seemed calmness was not how she was able to play this. Then again, that shouldn’t surprise him too much.
Faye sank onto the bench and shook her head. “I’m screwed. No two ways about it.”

“I know, I know… Faye. You’ve done exactly what you are supposed to do. And you’ve done it well. No one can begrudge you that… at all. You followed orders and you will not get hemmed up because of it. I can promise you that. Now… take a breath and try and calm yourself down. I need you to think, Faye. Does anyone else know your true purpose for being on the Manhattan? Anyone at all. If you and I are going to clean this up, we have to know what we are dealing with first. I don’t want a repeat of the Nevol incident.” he said with no small amount of venom in his voice.
