“I don’t know. But I do know that I don’t like it. Take us to red alert and put weapons on hot standby.” She said “I don’t trust this woman and I don’t trust Jarrett either.” She said “Carisi get an extra security detail down to sickbay. Place a level 10 forcefield around Jarret’s bio bed and no one comes to see him without my permission.” She said.
She looked at Black “I want all pertinent information on the Starbase that was supposed to be here, what was their primary function. Were they involved in any specific missions that might have made enemies.” She said “I also want to know if there have been any enhancements to the Admiral’s ship.” She said as she took her seat. Her eyes locked onto the Admirals approaching vessel.
CO
“Ship on red alert,” Paris announced as the colored lights went from yellow to red and the klaxons blared out. “Weapons are hot, primed and ready for a target.”
Lt Paris Carisi. COS
The scans of the admiral’s ship revealed no interesting enhancements. It was a generic Starfleet ship. Records revealed that there was no starbase that had ever existed at this location.
GM
Lucas stepped onto the bridge. =/\=Em, stay in our quarters.=/\=
=/\=…Ok dad.=/\= The Brit looked around. “What the bloody hell is going on?” He pointed at a science NE. “You. Tell me what’s happening.”
“Um. Sir. I… I don’t know.” He stared at her. “Well at least you’re honest about how useless you are.”-Dr Lucas Calvin
Natalie looked at Calvin “Welcome aboard Mr. Calvin.” She said with a slight frown “We are searching for a federation ship that has been attacking allied ships and destroying them. We are currently at the location of a supposed starbase that was destroyed, however, there are no records of a starbase being here.” She said “And we have an Admiral’s ship that seems to be tailing us, but they have some interesting upgrades and we have an attache in our sick bay that refused to cooperate and was hindering our investigation. We also have gone to red alert because I don’t trust the Admiral. She is somehow involved in this.” Natalie said.
CO
“Talked to her yet?” The NE at Comms said “Yes sir.” Lucas looked from comms to Greer. “Right. Let’s replay the message. See what she really wants.” The comms Officer looked to Greer for confirmation. “Come on. Deception expert standing right here doing nothing.”
-Dr Lucas Calvin
Natalie looked at her comms officer “Play it back for him.” She said “Maybe he can offer us something that we don’t already know.” She said as the message started to play again for the Counselor.
CO
“She was angry before she called. Something was wrong. Face already flushed, flashing anger. Either something was already wrong, or someone knew this Commander was on his way to the hospital. If she or someone in her direct service had prior knowledge of health issues, that’s a problem.” He turned around. “Is she up for some sort of promotion, decoration, anything? Play it again.” He watched the video again, looking for every micro expression and tick.
-Dr Lucas Calvin
Natalie spoke “We put her attache in SIckbay. He was stunned because of his behavior and he went into cardiac arrest. The stun setting was extremely low and should not have caused the heart issues. He’s alive, he’s under guard. I didn’t like the way she approached us about this entire mission. It just felt like she was trying to service her own needs. I have been in contact with Command and will find out what is happening, but this doesn’t feel right.”
CO
As they discussed the situation, a worried voice came across the bridge. “Captain, our shields are down! I don’t know what’s going on!”
GM
“Security prepare for a boarding party.” Natalie ordered “How are you with a gun Counselor?” She asked as she went to one of the weapons lockers to get a phaser =^=Engineering get those shields back up. Use secondary power if you need to.=^=
=/\=Yes ma’am!=/\= came a nervous sounding reply.
CO
Ens. Smythe
EngThe poor worried voice came again.
“Captain, I’m showing the admiral’s ship powering photon torpedoes and phasers.”
GM
“Hail them. Now!” Lucas barked. “I’ll buy some time. And hopefully get her plan out of her.”
-Dr Lucas Calvin
The bright red face of the admiral soon appeared on the view screen. Her eyes seemed to bore directly into Calvin and Greer. “What?” she barked.
=/\= Sickbay to Bridge. Um, Commander Jarrett just disappeared… =/\=
GM
Lucas studied the Admiral’s face as he walked around in front of the Captain’s chair and directly in front of the viewscreen. “Right. You’re royally pissed about something. Have been since before you hailed originally. Now our shields just dropped out of nowhere, your ship is powering up weapons, and your attaché got beamed out. Before we go any further, I’ll introduce myself. I’m Dr Lucas Calvin. I’m an expert in deception detection. Don’t lie to me. I’ll know. Oh and cutting the channel, equally telling. Ask my daughter. Back to business. Are you familiar with the term hero homicide, Admiral?”
-Dr Lucas Calvin
The admiral merely stared at Calvin for a few moments and then slid her vision over to the CO with an expectant eyebrow raise, waiting to see if she had anything to add.
GM
“Interesting. Avoidance. Shields can only drop under two conditions. They’ve been shot down, or brought down by computer command. No one fired on this ship. Now there are remote shutdown codes given to the Captain and Admiralty. You know that. Did you use your code? Are you intentionally compromising a Starfleet ship? That’s a crime. And you can’t leave evidence behind. Is that why you’ve got your weapons up?” Lucas just had to hope Greer trusted him enough by reputation to let him talk.
