Outposts, ships, convoys, and listening posts throughout the Fleet One area have been attacked and destroyed, apparently by Federation starships. Starfleet weapons signatures have been definitely confirmed by what few sensor readings can be pieced together. Several members of the Federation are threatening to leave the council if the perpetrators aren’t tracked down and brought to justice.

Admiral Brenna Burnett’s ship, the USS Sikeston, approached the Asimov and she beamed aboard to brief the Asimov crew in person. She explained the issues and directed the Asimov to investigate, to track the attackers, and to allow a Starfleet task force to capture them so they can be brought to justice. She left her attache, Commander Jarrett, on board the ship to assist with the investigation.

So far, the Asimov has headed to the site of one of the first attacks, but initial sensor sweeps have revealed no notable information. Commander Jarrett was confronted by the CO on the bridge and received a phaser blast that stopped his heart. He is now in Sickbay being treated and Burnett immediately hailed the Asimov to demand answers (odd how she knew, isn’t it?).

Bumping this for our new crew that might want some background info, with the caution that, at this point, I’m just trying to wrap everything up as soon as possible so we can end this sim and get onto the fancy new Asimov.
