Harry strolled down the corridor, coming to a halt outside the holodeck. He had been mulling over what programme to run, but hadn’t been able to decide on one. He paused as he pressed a few buttons on the console, before flicking his finger up along it with considerable speed. The list of holodeck programmes on the screen started to quickly scroll up at a rate that was not readable. A few seconds later, he prodded in the middle of the list, causing it to stop on an entry that said “Sherlock Holmes and the Case of the Vanishing Starship”.

“Sounds fun,” Harry muttered to himself, as he approached the doors. As he stepped through the threshold, his uniform materialised into a three-piece Victorian suit, complete with waistcoat, pocket watch, and a long dark overcoat that flared slightly as he moved.

The stench of 19th Century London hit him; a course dampness from the bricks, along with the smell of the horse manure that lined the cobbled streets, all blended in with the coal smoke that came with an industrial-era society.

He looked around to see who else, human or hologram, would be joining him.
