Lisa paced around her quarters mind racing with new ideas. She looked over at a folder on the corner of the room. It had red tape around it. Her failed experiment. Don’t go there she thought and put it out of her mind. She didn’t have time, she had her check in with Paddy today. She made some quick notes on one the many padds around the room, tied her hair up in a greasy ponytail and left for the CNS office. She almost made it to the turbolift when…Did you leave the light on? She knew she hadn’t. She fought hard against the urge to go back and check. What happens when you don’t check?
“The warp core explodes.” She muttered to herself as she returned to her quarters. The light was off.

This happened another two times. The warp core wasn’t going to explode today, not on her watch. Eventually she made it to the the Counsellor’s office. She pressed the chime and waited to be called in, making notes on a pads while she waited. She was always working on something.

A voice came up from behind her, “A little light on your feet today Lieutenant,” the voice rounded the corner to reveal itself as Lieutenant Patrick McMillan, the Asimov’s counselor, “I was just about to come back to prep for your appointment, come on in!”

-Lieutenant Patrick McMillan: Counselor-

Lisa jumped, spun round and brandished the padd as a makeshift weapon and let out a squeal upon hearing the voice behind her. She went red with embarrassment at that.
“I’m sorry Lieutenant, I wasn’t expecting you to be out.” She replied, then realised she was still holding the padd in the air put it down by her side. She went a deeper shade of red.
“Thank you, I hope I’m not too early!” She said following Paddy into his office.
