The helmsman sat alone at a small table in 6 Forward contemplating his next move.

The mission was over, it had been for a while and the crew had been cleared of any wrongdoings and back to their own lives. This was the second time Kohana had to endure that scenario. The first was when he served aboard the USS Blackbird working deep cover in the unsanctioned Romulan relocation.

Things had finally settled down, but he still harbored resentment toward that Federation Security goon, Pikelsimer. The agent had treated Kohana as if he was some new booter just graduated from the Academy. Black Wolf wasn’t as experienced as Pikelsimer, but he did have a good amount of undercover work that he had been quite successful at.

It was about time to have a conversation with the man and get a few things straight. Chances were the two of them would be working closely from time to time and there had to be a degree mutual trust and respect.

Ship’s Computer

Kohana made his way to deck 9, pausing at the door to the comm center. He could have used his own access code to get in, but decided against it. He didn’t need to give Pikelsimer any more reason to dislike or distrust him. Instead, he hit his comm badge.

There was no response, but after a long moment the door slid open.

The room was dimly lit by necessity, and a myriad of screens covered ninety percent of the wall on the far side of the room. There were chairs enough for six individuals to sit at a table, but no more. Two chairs sat under a control console under the screens, and it was at one of these that Agent Pikelsimer sat, tapping away at vommands with both a fkesh and bone hand and a purely metal one where his left hand ahould be. When Black Wolf came in, the FedSec Agent looked at him and then back at the viewer. ” L-T Black Wolf. To what do I owe the pleasure?” he asked flatly.

Kohana paused and chose his words carefully before speaking.

“Agent Pikelsimer, I believe you and I got off to a rough startt when I arrived on the Asimov. I came into the last mission with very little intel on the mission itself. I was told that I would be completely read in on the situation when I arrived. That didn’t happen. I offered a possible solution that I didn’t consider was that far out of the realm of possibility. My suggestion was shot down like I was some nwe boot fresh out of the Academy, which I am not. I am a very competent Intel agent, and I took offense at being treated that way.”

“I’ve had time to re-evaluate that situation, and realized your actions and statements were made deservedly so. You didn’t know me or my track record.”

The Intel/helmsman took a deep breath and continued. “With Cmdr. Calloway my direct superior and you being a Federation Security agent, as well as her husband, we will be working together. I think it would benefit all of us if we were tonstart with a clean slate and gain a mutual respect for each other. Both you and the Cmdr. didn’t stay in this business as long as you have on luck alone. You’ve got to be good, and I look forward to learning from the both of you and your experience.”
