It had been rough goings. For a while. They had long since ditched the uniforms, and Sara thought the crew could use a distraction. A message went out to the whole crew. =/\=An important simulation will be taking place on the holodeck tonight at 19:00 hours. Everyone is invited to participate.=/\= She thought that was cryptic enough the spies might even approve.

By 19:00 the holodeck was done up like the promenade of Earth Spacedock, draped in a thorough coating of festive lights, with a sizeable buffet to boot. Sara thought a touch of home was in order and this might just do the trick.

She dressed more femininely than was typical of her, in a simple black dress, but to see her in a dress at all might come as a shock to the crew. She stood in the middle of her holodeck creation and hoped people accepted their invitations.

Shara sat in her and Micah’s quarters, unwinding from yet another long day. All of them were long these days and it didn’t seem like that was about to change anytime soon. And the truth was, she was missing Faye and Daggum, and Nadine, rather terribly right now. They were so far away and even though she and Micah made promises about coming out of this alive, they both knew reality. They couldn’t actually make that promise. No one could. And yet Shara longed, just for once, to make such a promise and keep it.

She hadn’t said anything, but the whole situation was depressing her lately. Not that she showed it externally, of course. Shara had cemented her transformation into Elaine and very rarely broke character, and even then it was for essential mission-related reasons. When the message came through, she sighed and yet was intensely curious. An open training simulation? Everyone was invited? She smirked and turned in her chair. “Hey, come look at this. I smell a set-up. Shall we go indulge the good captain. I think as a senior officer I’m expected to set an example and be there, so I think it’s only fair you have to come too.”
