The small podium vanished and was replaced by a much larger console with everything Nerira would need for her design.

The computer chimed indicating it had flagged the program as research.

chiming again in acknowledgement the computer then asked “Please specify name of program”

“High speed FTL travel”

the computer chimed again, “Program saved. Recording log of session zero-zero-one.”

Nerira rolled her eyes, the computer was required to make a log of any work done on an engineering or science project to protect the intellectual property of the researchers. But she didn’t care about recognition, Nerira just wanted to make the ship better, this was for her and her shipmates, not to get recognized.
