Maybe it was the moonshine, maybe it was the deep conversation and confessions mixed with professions, but Shara felt giddy. And if there was ever a word that was not associated with her, it was giddy. She drank more form her jar and then set it to the side, ignoring how everything was starting to sway.”Ahh Pickle. I do love you,” she said with complete sincerity, resting a hand over his and tipping her chin up to kiss his jaw. Mmmm, yes, everything felt just about perfect right now.

Micah bent his head so her lips moved from jaw to lips and he kissed her deeply. “I love you too, Sha.” and he slid down so they were on an even plane and kissed her again, deeply. His hands began to roam over her and he grinned as they kissed. “I think this moment deserves a little ‘celebration’.” and he opened his eyes, bit her lower lip softly, and then slid down her neck and moved lower, kissing her and removing any barriers between her and his lips as he traveled lower and lower…
Micah
Not one to disagree with such an excellent suggestion, Shara kissed him back and moved her hands to pull the t-shirt up and over her head, pausing the kiss for the brief moment when it had to pass between them. With a toss behind her, she was entirely naked. How convenient! Succumbing to desire and the moonshine, Shara fell against him, her mouth seeking his again.
Later when they slept, for the first time since her daughter had fallen into the depths of crisis, Shara had no nightmares.
Noise sounded on the periphery of her hearing and at first she thought it was a combadge chirping, but the more she focused, the more she realized it was birds. Birds singing. Where were the birds? There were no birds in space!
Cracking an eye open, Shara squinted at the beautiful sunlight coming in. It was well after dawn but still morning based on the sun height. Another sound caught her attention and she was suddenly aware of the skin against hers. Warmth. A heart beating. Micah.
Carefully rolling off him , she returned to stillness as if she might be still asleep. Shara remembered the moonshine, and she could remember telling him she loved him, deeply. But after that? Vague memories of… oh yes. Mmm, yes. But after that? Nothing. They must have fallen asleep.
Moving very carefully so as to not wake him, Shara slipped out of bed, noting that at some point she must have finished her moonshine because her jar was empty. She swayed as she stood up. Oh by the goods! Her hand went to her head as it felt like it might split open. She wasn’t sure she’d ever had such a terrible headache, except for that concussion she had had once. Finding Micah’s t-shirt not on the floor where she had remembered tossing it, but neatly set on the dresser, Shara slipped it over her, wearing it like a short dress.
Slipping downstairs with near silent footfalls, Shara moved to the kitchen and set about brewing a pot of coffee. Gods she needed coffee.
It was too bright out, too pretty and yet she couldn’t help but admire the view. Wandering through the ground level of the house, she saw Micah’s computer sitting on the coffee table, rather than in the nook out of site. That was odd. They hadn’t come back downstairs and it hadn’t been out earlier. Bending at the hips, the Intelligence officer couldn’t help but peer at the screen.
Shara blinked. No. No way! reaching out she tapped a key that brought up the other screen and as a video played her hands flew to her mouth. Oh hell! Flicking back her eyes traced the document sitting proudly: a marriage certificate.
What possessed her to do what she did next, later she could only blame on sheer and utter panic. She quickly hide the files in an unmarked folder deeper in his system and closed the computer. She was going to call HQ later anyway. It was a good excuse to have it out there. But… what if he remembered? But she didn’t. Not one lick. And surely she’d remember getting married?! But what if he did. Forcing herself to breath, Shara padded back to the kitchen and grabbed a mug, pouring herself some coffee. Slipping outside, she sat on the front steps and tried to quell the panic.

A loud curse from inside accompanied heavy footfalls and the clinking of a cup on the counter. Soon the door opened and Micah came out, sans clothes, holding the steaming cup of coffee in his metal hand. “Well… I told ya the hangover would be a doozy. Gods… it’s like a Klingon version of ‘Stomp’ in my head.” and he took a seat on the step next to her and said “Morning, love. How are you feelin’?” and he took a drink.

Shara sipped and turned to him. “Like I was hit by a shuttlecraft, dragged across a deck for awhile and tossed at a bulkhead for good measure. Amazing people still like to drink after feeling like this,” she grumbled before she sipped her coffee. “My memory is iffy too. I’ve heard that/s a possible outcome, but it’s… weird experiencing it,” she said, her tone light, but the knuckles of the hand holding her cup were paler.
