Few things scared Fighter Pilots, but Medical examinations were one of the big ones. Even when completely healthy and having no issues at all, Pilots still broke out in a cold sweat at the thought that a single What’s this? from a Doctor could see them grounded. No longer a Fighter Pilot, Rovan had migrated back to the Engineering department now but that slight feeling of dread lingered in the back of his mind.

It was silly of course, not once in the last two years on Earth, Arda where Rovan and Allison had built their new home and many of Allison’s family had moved to, nor any of the starbases had Rovan ever been ill. He was fit, strong and healthy and there was no chance of him being grounded so, softly whistling a random tune that popped into his head, he walked through the doors to the sickbay and looked for one of the medical team to report to for his check-in.
