“Hear, hear,” she said, lifting her jar and taking a gulp. “What about you? Your little jaunt over to the DQ wasn’t exactly planned. What are the next plans job-wise? Or have they told you yet?” There was a warmth that had spread down her throat from the moonshine and was settling into her stomach. It was cozy, just like being snuggled up with Micah.

“Perk of my job… I pick my assignments. I organize my own ops. All my bosses care about is results. I may get the occasional Intel packet about an individual or organization and I’m asked to look into it; but for the most part I just do what I want. As long as the bad guys get theirs at the end of the day, I’m all good.” and he took a sip and then looked at her. “Besides, I told them I was off for the next couple three weeks. And they know better than to interrupt my ‘me’ time.” and he laughed.

Shara laughed too. She liked his laugh- he had a nice one and she could imagine that a man like him that was very serious a lot of the time didn’t just break it out on a whim. “Well good, I’m not sure I’m up for visitors, though after my time is up here, I do have to swing through San Fran to meet with the bosses and get my assignment.” She tilted her head and looked up at him slightly. “That and I have a crate of belongings that’s been in my storage locker at HQ while I’ve been on assignment, which means it’s sat there gathering items here and there for almost two decades. I thought it was about time we were reunited.” Hmmm, bad choice of word, but then again that was only because of thoughts in her head lately.
