Drudoc having heard the exchanges over the open comm line spoke up on a group channel. =/\= There will be no touring the ‘dragon’ around the ship. =/\= She said with a firm tone. =/\= From scans it is possible these creatures quickly ‘leave the nest’ so to speak and the creature may be following its natural instincts..=/\= Drudoc explained.

As if to emphasize this point Jaberwock again pawed and clawed at the exterior door hatch. “..Out!” It said looking to Eve and Kala.

Mazi shook her head and tapped her own badge, =^=Apparently it wants outside…=^= The sound of exasperation was in her voice. She didn’t trust it with the exterior of the ship any more than the interior. Her only hope was that it was eaten enough it wouldn’t go for the nacelles.

Drudoc’s voice came over the open comm line again. =/\= Andone to everyone in Cargo Bay 1, clear the bay and put up a forcefield behind the creature then let’s open the bay door to space to see what it does. =/\= She ordered.

“I suggest we lead Jabberwock towards the holodeck,” Eve suggested, following her baby closely. “There we can replicate any environment they could wish for.”

Drudoc’s voice came over the open comm, this time sounding firmer and orderly in tone then before. =/\= Lieutenant Eve. My orders are clear, there will be no having ‘Jaberwock’ touring the ship. First off it is too big for the corridors almost, and certainly too large for turbolift movement. The creature based on its behavior seems to be trying to ‘fly the nest’ in wanting out of the cargo bay into space. Put a forcefield up, then evac the bay and open the exterior hatch door so we can conclude things one way or another..=/\= She ordered to the android and the others yet again.

Kala was concerned, “That doesn’t make sense if the creature was a space-faring entity then it would have been born in space and its egg wouldn’t have hatched because it wasn’t in its natural habitat. If we open up the bay doors it could just well kill” She didn’t express her concerns over the comms but to the people in the room. “We need more evidence and scans and we can do this safely onboard without just pumping it out into space.” Her objections were more of a concern than a refusal to obey orders but she felt the path they were taking was more likely to anger and scare Jabber than to help it

“You all heard the Captain… out!” Mazi was trying to get everyone to the door when several things happened at once.

Jaberwock not seeming to get the attention or resolution it thought it needed. Turned back to the exterior door and started pawing at the exterior door more in frustration. Its claws made marked furrows in the door frame. “..Out! Out!” It whined.

Suddenly Jaberwock was encased in a transporter beam and as they could watch on the nearby window beamed into space, the dragon reformed into space off their forward bow. It flopped about a moment then seemed to settle after the confusion of transport into its ‘home’. Its tail thrashed happy in turn and it began to move about by propelling itself from small nearby rocks to others in a larger circular pattern. The creature began to move off from the Ark Angel with barely a glance back and soon was moving at a fair clip of .10c sublight and gaining speed out of the system.

A moment later there was a dull distant ‘thumb’ sound as likely a probe was launched to trail after the dragon, then the Ark Angel itself was felt to shift and go to warp. It seems their adventures with Jabberwock were, for the time being at least, finished.

Seeing the thing depart out the view port left Mazi with a sigh of relief. Turning to the others, she glanced at each in turn and headed out the door. She decided, then and there, that a pet wasn’t such a good idea on a space ship.
