Simon followed Guy to the turbolift as they made their way to the Arboretum. When he asked about the problem Simon thought for a moment how to word it. “So, you remember me mentioning my brother during my first psychological evaluation?” he asked “Well, I’ve got some news about him,” he said. He didn’t sound happy about the news, which was out of place as he had been looking for information on his brother for some time. Something he had already told the counsellor.

“Arboretum.” He called the lift computer “Yes I do remember. I suppose that news are not… favorable, otherwise we would not be here talking about it.” The Counselor assumed

“I’m OK with the news, just… I promised my parents before I left for the Academy that I would tell them if I found out anything about my brother,” he said. “It’s just, I don’t know if they would… be impressed by the news,” Simon sighed as he mentioned the fact that he made that promise.

As they both got out and they were right in front the local door. Guy looked Starr and gave him a light pat on his shoulder “Let’s get in and get a relaxing walk. So tell me, what is this news…?” He asked as he stepped in the green filled local.

Lieutenant Freeman, Guy - Chief Counselor Officer

Simon sighed, “I hoped that I didn’t have to tell my parents that he went down a dark path when he left. We didn’t know, had no news or anything. I got a message from Starfleet Security, his wanted in connection to the Orion Crime Syndicate. And now I don’t know how to tell my mum and dad when I told them I would,” he explained as he took a slow walk through the plants. He had first met the captain and her daughter here when he was stepping up from the junior officer ranks. It was a naturally relaxing place to be, even with the troubling news.

“Ah… that’s a tough one.” Guy invited him to walk around “You know, Ben, all news must be delivered. It doesn’t matter when or how, but the truth always find a way to get afloat. I am not saying you shouldn’t lie to them, but you need to inform them. They are your and your brother’s parents.” The Lieutenant took a brief pause. The environment, the light, made everything more soothing and incredibly relaxing… even the Guy that Ben knew was now getting softer and softer “I had once to tell my mom about my attempt to suicide. It’s a secret! Be aware ahah…” he chuckled uncomfortably “Even knowing I haven’t had much trust in them and perhaps got farther from them with time, I had still fear to… to tell them the truth. I know they loved me and they still do… but it is something tough to tell your parents you did try to throw your life away. So for the first months I kept it a Counselor-Medic question. I kept it for myself. What I am telling you is that you should tell them. The best is always as soon as possible. Indeed I told them about thin ‘incident’ if you know what I mean and… I got relieved and they got scared at first. But after some months of therapy and help they got over it, really. They returned to be Mr. Freeman and Mrs. Freeman. The only dumb-ass to have sent their son on a guided career.”

IC: “I get I need to tell them, I’m just worried how they’re going to react,” Simon responded to guy, “And my parents could always tell when I was lying,” he said off hand on the comment about telling the truth or not. “I’m just worried, I mean, they are farmers not starfleet officers. I’m worried it will make them stressed,” he explained. “After all, would you like your son telling you that your other son is a wanted fugitive?” he asked. His concern definitely was the nature of the news. He knew he had to keep a level head and not let it get in the way of his duty. His parents didn’t have that, and he worried that telling them this news may cause more problems.
