But there was engineering work to be done and…Eve was employed on this crew as an engineer.
Her lips automatically raising into a smile, she added as she turned to leave, “I shall locate Lieutenant Mazi at once.”

OOC: To clarify the artifact is up on deck 15 the singularity core is a deck down, so Eve would be heading on to the other thread as she did so good job there!
