A few minutes later, Simon was appearing next to the captain in the Security office. Looking at the unconscious orion through the holding cell and simply said “It always seems trouble finds her,” quietly to the captain. “I heard the crew saying Ranlei had put herself in a holding cell, thought I’d come and check,” he said, and awaited the medical teams arrival.

”..So it seems Lieutenant..” She stated flatly.

Dominic heard that a medical team was required deciding to get what was needed and started to head that way, He wondered what exactly was going on. Once Dominic showed up he made himself known, ” I’m here upon request for medical assistance. ” he said politely

Getting into the cell was not difficult but took the CO or XO’s authorization. Scans by the doctor indicated Ranlei was sedated. A light stimulant was all that would be required to wake her. She did have a bruise under her left cheekbone but while fresh wasn’t otherwise serious.

Ensign Ranlei Greene. Engineering.

Drudoc entered her authorization code and opened the cell looking to Corvax. “..Ensign, take a scan of Ensign Greene, make sure she has no further injuries then that obvious bruise on her face, then see if you can wake her up with a stimulant..” She said.

Dominic nodded and began running scans”aye captain” he said. After the scans were done he spoke again ” it seems she’s been sedated captain. A light stimulant should do the trick” Dominic said explaining it to the captain as he prepared the stimulant to wake her up. “She should wake up any minute captain.”

Ranlei stretched as she woke her arm brushed Doctor Corvax’s arm as she did so and so she adjusted her stretch into a embrace lifting herself to envelop him in her arms. She ended up yawning into his ear and only then opened her eyes. Point A that dawned on her was that this wasn’t her room. Point B was that both she and the man she was latched onto were over dressed. Point C was that they weren’t alone. Ranlei rather blinked at her company. Then slowly extracted herself from the doctor and looked confused. “Sorry doctor. I don’t think I planned for what happens after I am roused very well.”,

”..Are you alright Ensign? What happened?” She asked.

At this point she looked up at the others in the cell and got to her feet. “Sorry Captain. And Lt. Starr. I am trying to cope with recent. events . The only excuse I have is that I have not managed to sleep since we returned from the planet.”, and she waited for a response.

”..I can understand how the last mission could be stressful to you Ensign, but it doesn’t explain the bruise over your eye and how you ended up in a locked down holding cell. Could you explain those?” Drudoc asked, her expression was calm though a slight look of inquisitiveness and concern were also there in her dark green raven black eyes.

Ranlei touched the bruise and shrugged “Due to my fatigue I clumsily tripped as it was being explained to me why I am unfit to be near children Mam. As I do not disagree completely with the arguement I prefer to not explain it further.”, and she sighed, “My experience is sir that the safest place to be when people are upset about something is exactly where they think you belong. So I put myself here. Lt. Starr is familiar with my background and skill set and can verify that I am fully capable of placing myself anywhere I want to be Mam.”, Ranlei had been open about things with the CMO and The now XO as there was really no way to explain her skill set otherwise. But the Romulan Star Empire had a very different experience with it’s Intelligence service so telling the Captain directly wasn’t anything she was confident she could do safely.

Drudoc seemed now displeased though not with Ranlei. “..It sounds to me Ensign you are the target of racial and/or culture harassment. Something I will not condone or accept aboard my ship. I would like to know who these people are that felt you were unfit to be near children. So that proper corrective actions can be taken. I won’t have any person under my command feel they must bow to such suffering and bullying tactics..” She said.

Simon remembered the first time Ranlei came aboard the ship, and when the forcefield was down and Ranlei woke up, he said “Agreed, the last mission was a stressful one for all of us. It was a difficult situation we were put into the middle of. And with how the party went, Ensign, whoever said that is wrong,” he commented. “And no-one is defined by their race,” he added. “I would also like to know who has been making assumptions,” Simon commented to Ranlei.

Ranlei bit her lip., “I would like it if you could not pursue this. I am aware that it is the policy of Starfleet to be open and welcoming to everyone. But well wishes and false friendships do not lead to a utopia. They bury the issue. They create a false security. If people act out in small ways they identify themselves as a threat and can th7en be avoided. If they are however forced to act friendly and welcoming they resent it. It frustrates them. So when they do finally lash out the concequences are far greater for both sides. Bruises heal. Do nothing it’s better for everyone. If you feel you need a reason to keep me in a cell I can provide you with that. I will do my duties then return to the cell. Every day. I prefer this environment right now. At least till I resolve the nightmares.”, Ranlei said nearly begging
