“I decided I’d carry on the legacy of my birth parents. They fought and died with honor, so it’s only sensible.” Arthur said, referring to when his parents disobeyed orders from a corrupt XO and saved the Klingon ship that his adoptive father, Ruk, would ultimately command.

“I joined after their time, but we always remember those who sacrifice themselves for the greater good. It’s been an earthen tradition that has been going on for hundreds of years,” Starr replied, a more reflective tone when Arthur first came in. “So, you were raised in a klingon family. Have you had your physical examination yet?” he asked.

“Not yet. Though I’m probably more fit than most humans, I can go the distance with both my brothers and live through it.” Arthur chuckled at his own humor, both of his brothers were full blooded Klingons, and brutal.

“I’ll make a note of that. Mok’bara is a good martial style that I typically train with as well,” Simon responded. “So, what are you good at? Whats your current skillset?” he asked next, now trying to figure out where he would best fit into the department.

“I’m really good at apprehension and hand to hand combat.” Arthur responded simply, gesturing at the knife sheath at his right side. “If it’s alright with you, I’d like to carry my Dk’Tagh knife on duty.”

Simon looked over at the knife on the side, and gestured for Arthur to show him the knife. While he was waiting for Arthur to do so, he asked “What does it mean to you?” There was a tone in his voice that suggested that this was some form of test for the new Ensign.
