“Usually I don’t have any issues with the crew or the ship but this was the first for me.” Trax said with a small smiled her way. “thank you! He said kindly to her as he took a seat in the interesting chair. “WOW! theses are nice.” He commented as he melted into the chair. “Thanks for the offer of a refreshment but I understand maybe a rain check? Since you really can’t get through right now.” he said with a small soft laugh. Trax said. “I find the Ark Angel interesting and never too dull. But at times the ship is kinda big to me.” Trax said calmly to her. “I really was not here long as a Junior Officer before becoming the new Chief Medical Officer.”

“A rain check it is,” Katie replied with another smile as she wiggled slightly in her own chair to make herself more comfortable. She looped one leg over the other, crossing them at the knee, as she leaned back against one arm so she could angle her body toward Suder’s. “Oof, that sounds like a very rapid increase in responsibility,” she commented. “Are you getting comfortable in your new position of authority now or is it still feeling a little unsettling?”

“Somedays I am fine with everything but other times I feel unsettled as you put it.” Trax commented calmly to her. He felt like he was taking her away from her getting settled in herself. “What do you think of the Ark Angel?” Trax asked her.

“Well, it’s a lot different than my previous ship,” Katie commented with a laugh. “But I’m slowly getting used to it. There’s been quite a backlog to work through since Starfleet hasn’t had someone qualified for the administrative tasks of heading the department.” She rolled her eyes slowly at this comment, hoping to impart her distaste for the paperwork that came with being a part of the Ark Angel’s senior staff. “Is there anything I can do to help you feel more confident in your position or do you think it will come with time?” she asked, gently prodding to see if there was a reason that Suder had sought her out.

Trax knew what she meant about all the paperwork with dealing with as a department head. “I am not sure??? It might come easier with time but sometimes we just don’t have the time.” Trax said with a straight face. I am not sure if you’re going to need an eval from me since your new here and all. I am not sure if the previous Counselors eval is ok or do we need an update?” Trax asked her. There were other issues but he knew they can keep for now she is still settling in after all.

Katie hesitated for a moment and picked up a nearby PaDD to check on the date of Suder’s last evaluation. She quickly glanced through the counselor’s comments and then set the device down again. “Well, it doesn’t look like you’re due for an evaluation, but I’m not only here to do those,” she responded. “Is there something that you’d like to chat about?” Her tone grew more serious as she shifted her weight so that she was leaning slightly closer to the CMO.

He felt like talking but he knew the counselor had too much on her plate currently with trying to get her office in order and other clients. Trax finally said something but it may not be what the counselor wanted to hear. “I do but it will keep for now your rather buried in some work right now. As he stood to leave I will be back later when your finished or caught up…” Trax showed an emotionless face which was strange for a betazoid man. But he pulled the Vulcan demeanor off well.

Katie let out a gentle laugh as Suder made his attempt to escape from her office. “I have time now, Lieutenant, you’re not interrupting anything,” she commented lightly. “What’s up?”
