Katie followed Shanok out of his tent with a slight sigh of exasperation. She had barely gotten started with the evaluation and it was already being interrupted. She found her hand resting on the phaser attached to her hip as they made their way out, although she wasn’t quite sure where she had adopted that gesture from, not being used to carrying the weapon on a regular basis. A small smirk at herself and she returned her attention to Shanok, quietly observing his interactions with her crew mates.

Domingo beamed back down from the Ark Angel after having finished some off-shift needs. He had been informed of the recent attack and came prepared with some bigger firepower, which was specifically a phaser rifle and some land based shield emitters. He walked to the COS and inquired, “Sir, is everyone alright?”

Shanok looked annoyed at the beam ins and outs but the emotional flicker across his eyes and face was quickly replaced back to his usual stoic neutral tone. “..Honestly, with all this beaming in and out or attempts beyond where the enhancers are set you could be endangering priceless artifacts!” He said “..Do none of you in Starfleet study proper archaeological procedures in the Academy anymore?” he inquired.

Starr thought for a moment as Chavez brought the extra firepower, “If their sensitive to bright light, then we may only need the torches on these things,” Starr said taking the rifle offered. “Any slime-like creatures, start with bright light - we don’t want to cause damage to anything around,” he said pointedly, making direct eye-contact with Shanok as he does so.

Shanok nodded simply to Lieutenant Starr’s words. “..Good, the less impact we make on the local wildlife, plants and especially the ruins the better.” he said. “..I will leave you and your teams to deal with the remaining tasks and in securing the dig site. I’m sure with a few sources of light the creature will slink off somewhere else..” he stated.
