Domingo looked on surprised while the sensation of the firm kiss lingered on his lips. His mind was completely blank as Katie’s reply barely registered in his mind. A warmth spread in his chest, an almost suffocating feeling to have, one that was difficult to bear. Having slid his chair back to stand up, Domingo stepped close enough to Katie that she could feel his body radiating heat. Cupping his hands to the back of her head, he drew her back into a kiss while attempting to convey the raw emotion bubbling in his chest.

Katie’s hands fell loosely to her side as she blushed underneath the contact of their lips. As she felt Chavez’s hands on her head, she squirmed uncomfortably, but returned his kiss with equal passion and emotion. After a few moments, she broke the kiss as best she could. A slightly uncomfortable giggle escaped her reddened lips as she commented, “I think our food is getting cold.” She tugged on his forearms slightly as if to indicate her desire to return to the delicious meal.

Domingo closed his eyes a moment to settle himself before stepping back and smiling awkwardly. “Of course, sorry.” He responded before around the table away from Katie to hold her chair and helped her sit. He then went back to his own side and picked at his food, not quite as hungry as he was before.

“Thank you for your words before.” He said quietly.
