Side Sim: Ensign Chavez Check in with the CO
Posted by Fleet Captain Drudoc Andone (CO) in Side Sim: Ensign Chavez Check in with the CO
[snip]A moment passed where Chavez might think the CO wasn’t in the ready room when a crisp =/\= Enter! =/\= reply came from within.

Domingo stepped into the CO’s office, giving it a quick glance before going over to stand at attention.
“Ensign Chavez, security, reporting in Captain.” He introduced himself and his purpose.

The Romulan Fleet Captain Drudoc Andone stood from behind her desk, how a Romulan became a Starfleet Fleet Captain was probably an interesting story in itself. Standing at a 6‘2 in height she was strong built showing a woman who worked out and kept in shape, as well as had led a life of hard work. She had deep dark green colored eyes with raven black hair lightly tinted in spots with silver lining though likely not from old age given she was only in her late 150s or so. Coming around the work desk she spoke with a strong, firm, but politely toned commanding voice. “..Greetings Ensign, welcome aboard the Ark Angel. Please relax, take a seat if you wish or get yourself something to eat or drink from the replicator, while I attend to feeding my pet Shaloon fish..” She said moving to the right side of the room where a large fish tank in the corner was home to a basketball sized red-brown fish of exotic type. If Chavez had studied such in the Academy he might recognize it as a fish usually found within the Romulan Star Empire from the now destroyed Romulan homeworld Romulus. Likely the fish species was now endangered after the Hobus Incident of 2387.
Domingo was surprised a little by the offer of getting himself some food or drink, but decided against doing so. Instead he opted for taking a seat, he was observing the pet fish and the feeding process while waiting for the CO.
Drudoc took out from a small container bits of raw fresh meat which she fed to the fish and it eagerly ate up with quite sharp looking teeth, within a moment the bits of meat were gone and the fish swam back and forth seeming to eye Chavez now like its next meal with somewhat intelligent looking predatory eyes. Returning to her desk seat Drudoc said indicating for Chavez to do the same if he hadn’t by this point. “..So Ensign, I see you are fresh from the Academy. Which ship did you take your graduating cruise on?” She asked.

“Ah there seems to be a misunderstanding Captain. I’m not freshly graduated from the Academy. My rank is actually the result of disciplinary action by Starfleet. They did not… approve, of my actions at the end of an assignment that was kept off my record. After a few years in solitary on Earth, Starfleet gave me the options of going back to the fleet or teaching at the Academy. I believe their intention is to have me where I can be watched, maybe see if I’m disgruntled against the Federation after everything. I couldn’t stay on Earth anymore, more of a personal reason for that, so back to the fleet I went. I had a brief stint on the Dresden but it wasn’t really working out there. As an aside, you may have received orders already pertaining to keeping me under watch. I can only say that my only intentions are to adjust back to shipboard life and society.” Domingo divulged a little more than he should, but figured his CO would dig without his exposition anyway so may as well tell it like it was.
