The transporter platform remained prepared, the shimmering lights of the pattern buffers reflecting across the room as the final transport calculations were verified. The destination coordinates had been confirmed, and the connection to the remote listening post was standing by.

At the transporter console, the assigned transporter officer monitored the system readings with practiced attention.
