Walter had some time before his next scheduled shift, so he thought he would check out the rec area aboard the AA. When he arrived at deck 19, it was easy to find the pool. He took in the scent of the chorine, and while it wasn’t as heavenly as the saltwater air of his favorite beach back on Terra, it still brought a smile to his face as he remembered family trips to the shore from his childhood.

He changed into his swim trucks, flip flops and his favorite light blue surf shop t-shirt from Virginia Beach. With a multicolored extra long beach towel, he claimed a seat along the pool edge. He warmed up with some stretches, then did a quick rinse at the poolside shower to prepare to begin swimming.

He eased himself into the cool water letting his body acclimate to the temperature. When he felt he was ready he started to do some laps.

OOC: I like to be active when I am playing on a ship. While we are in a downtime let’s keep our characters engaged and get to know each other. I’m inviting all Cadets and Ensigns to this poolside thread.

OOC: Sorry to barge in. Right now I believe everyone is a little focused on getting Captain Becket transitioned off the ship and bringing my new Commanding Officer Character Captain T’Nara on board shortly after that I’m pretty sure we’ll be going into a new mission after that.

OOC: If players have the bandwidth, they can utilize alternate timelines to enjoy some off duty time by the pool (side sims/self sims) while still supporting the Main Sim and current events.

I think most of us have participated in at least one (possibly all three) check in posts while still posting in the main sim.

Jody, I think you are doing a good thing by trying to stay active and include other players. That being said, don’t be discouraged if nobody jumps in. As Lynx said… there is a lot going on. The other players might not have the time or energy for extra posts right now.
