With the Vermin clear of the Ark Angel the shuttle began its vectoring to approach the 2nd ship chunk. On their approach they passed tinier fragments that were utterly burnt out and useless. Scans also were still a mess due to the radiation and residual left overs of the ion storm from a week ago, coming up on the large second fragment they could see it spanned maybe about 2 deck sections and possibly part of a 3rd near the bottom. Sensors showed some faint power across the whole chunk but couldnt make out much details other then it was an unstable power source. They couldnt though confirm nor deny if a life sign was present here, but thankfully due to its size it would be easy enough to land on the outer hull of the fragment near the top then walk a few feet to pass inside it using their eva suits to begin their search

Ollie nodded thanks to Lt. T’Varan and double checked his suit, giving him the thumbs up before turning his attention back to his console.

“An extra boost to our shields might not hurt either,” Hegush said, “they readings are distorted but my scans are picking up that the radiation is beginning to get thicker, looks like a good chunk to lad on, only thing is the power source on it reads unstable, can you confirm Lieutenant Commander?” He directed the question to Ezeami but didn’t turn his head, focusing hard on navigating the shuttle through the debris and towards the chunk that was slowly getting larger in the viewscreen.

He tapped a few commands on the console to cross-check the COO’s assessment. “Confirmed. I’m coming up with the same readings.”

Once the shuttle touched down gently upon the hunk of ship the magnetic locks on the underbelly engaged keeping the shuttle level with the drifting chunk of the ship. They would need to EVA walk a short 20ft to the nearest entry point to begin their scans. The radiation levels here were high but their suits, and shuttle, and once they were inside the ship chunk would protect them long as they did not stay more then a day or so here.
