Ollie entered the shuttlebay shortly after the counselor. He had grabbed both a phaser rifle, which he had slung across his back, and a Type II for his hip holster. Best to be prepared for any eventuality he figured. He made his way over to the Vermin and nodded to Counselor Cross. and NE Marshall.

“Ready to go, counselor,” he stated and waited for the rest of the team to arrive.

OOC: Ezeami you in a hazmat suit?

Hegush slipped through the doors of the Shuttlebay and walked across the floor of the towards the shuttle. He was already in his hazmat suit but had decided to keep the headpiece off until he absolutely had to put it on. Prior to his arrival in the Bay he’d swung by the Maintenance labs and Engineering to build himself a personalised kit of all the equipment that he thought he was going to need. He’d been on shipwrecks in the past, intimately so and so thought he had a pretty fair idea of what sort of equipment that he might need.

He’d made sure he kept the kit as minimized as he possibly could, everything he needed and nothing more than that. He wanted to keep it light; he was concerned that without knowledge of what the cause of the wreckage, there was the possibility of it being a trap and he didn’t want to be encumbered. An image of waking up to the sound of phaser fire, watching officers be shot and executed or, like himself, being captured and dragged away briefly came to mind. Or they could just end up caught in the crossfire of the whatever battle had taken place. Perhaps he was skeptical or overly cautious, he wasn’t going to trust the sensors readings fully. For someone with the knowledge and skill they could manipulate the sensors, or the radiation itself was distorting the signal.

It paid to be careful.

Which was why he’d also equipped himself with a phaser and why, after putting his headpiece to the side out of the way, he was now approaching their shuttle to scan it and make sure nothing was missed.

Shortly after Hegush, Sorel arrived at shuttle Vermin kitted out with everything he needed, he even had a scientific tricorder with him which was pure habit as he was CSO of the ship previously.

He nodded in acknowledgement to the rest of the team before taking his seat.

OOC: Oh yes. I forgot about hazmat suit, Cross is in one of those:) Soral you’re in a suit?

Cross looked all the members of the team over carefully to make sure they were kitted out correctly. Then he looked at the doors thinking they were still short of a doctor.
“Good job, gentleman. We are just waiting on the doc.”

OOC: Yes as mentioned you all should have EVA (which would also double as hazmat in this sense) because there is little to no atmosphere on the wrecks so you dont want to suck vacuum I’d imagine :P kind of unhealthy to being alive!

With everyone present on the Vermin the shuttle was ready to launch. They had a limited window to pick one of five random hunks of an alien spaceship to search for 1-3 possible life signs. The first chunk seemed to be an outer hull chunk of the alien ship in some shape. The second chunk looked like it might be part of the uppermost and either forward or rear most area of a ship. The third chunk seemed to be a center inner hull section. The fourth seemed to be a lower forward or rear area again. With the fifth one looking like an outer hull with possibly remains of some kind of sublight engine module partly still hanging on it.

OOC: I think we are still waiting for the Doctor. I think I’d like to look at the second chuck. I’ll post it in post once we board and get settled.

“Alright, gentlemen let’s board and prepare while we wait for the Doctor.” Cross led the way onto the shuttle. “Falz, take helm, Ezeami co pilot and Security. Dr. Spenn can take Science and Soral and I’ll sit in the back.”

Soral nodded in acknowledgment to Alex, afterall he was now a Diplomatic Officer so didn’t have anything that was in his job description to do on the shuttle.

He boarded the shuttle and immediately took his seat

At those orders Hegush looked up from his scans of the shuttle and faced, “Yes, sir” he said. He took a brief look down at the reading and seemingly satisfied that the shuttle bay crew had done a good job, he slipped his tricorder into his belt and boarded the shuttle to get himself settled in the pilots chair.

Spenn entered the shuttle at that moment. “Pardon me for my tardiness,” He said, “An ensign from ops had questions regarding a rather concerning rash. May I get an explanation as to why I was called here?”

“Quite alright Doctor, I have a hazmat suit here for you. We are going to look closer at some ship debris.” Cross said as he handed over the suit.

Riley started the engine system to the shuttle and started the sub systems.

“Is everyone here I am closing the ramp and sealing us up”

he said as his hands danced over the controls. Riley only enjoyed flying even a shuttle.

Chief Engineer Waryn’s voice came over the comms in the Counselor’s shittle. =/\=”Vermin, this is Rodent… have you determined which chunk you’ll be investigating first?”=/\=

Cross activated the comms to answer Waryn.

IC: Ollie took his place next to Lt. Hegush and checked over the console to make sure it was configured the way he liked it. He turned to the lieutenant with a grin, “Nothing like a little stroll out into the unknown, radiation heavy, remains of space junk eh lieutenant? I do love a good tan.”

“You could use one,” Falz joked, “I’m looking forward to playing chicken with the junk and test my pilot skills out. Might even treat the team to a couple of flips in this baby.” He leaned sideways toward Ollie and dramatically whispered, “Just don’t tell Counselor Cross I’ve never flown a shuttlecraft before.” Then gave a good-natured laugh so Ollie (and anyone who might have heard) knew he was only joking.
