Dr. Charlotte Kelley stepped through the doors of Main Sickbay aboard the USS Ark Angel carrying a medical padd tucked against her side. Her eyes moved across the busy medical floor, taking in the organized movement of nurses, corpsmen, and physicians as they worked between biobeds and diagnostic stations. The steady hum of medical scanners and life-support monitors was familiar, grounding.
She straightened the hem of her blue medical uniform before approaching the central office area.
“Dr. Charlotte Kelley reporting for duty,” she said professionally as she approached the Vulcan officer overseeing the department. “Transfer orders from Starfleet Medical.”
Charlotte offered the padd forward calmly.
“I’ve reviewed the Ark Angel’s medical readiness reports during transit. I want to familiarize myself with current staffing rotations, emergency protocols, and any ongoing medical concerns affecting the crew.”
Her posture remained confident but respectful, carrying herself with the composure expected from an experienced Starfleet doctor.
“And if there’s anywhere specific you’d like me assigned first, Lieutenant Commander, I’m ready to get to work.”

Spenn pointed to an Andorian lieutenant lying on a biobed. “Lieutenant Zh’ikyrheq has lost a leg. Reattach it.” He ordered.

Charlotte’s eyes immediately moved to the Andorian officer on the biobed, then to the detached limb suspended within a sterile preservation field nearby. The injury was severe, but clean enough to attempt full reattachment.
She stepped directly to the bedside, already pulling on surgical gloves.
“How long since traumatic separation?” she asked sharply while activating the biobed’s diagnostic interface.
Her fingers moved rapidly across the controls, bringing up vascular integrity scans, neural pathway damage, and cellular degradation readings.
“Blood loss is manageable… tissue viability still acceptable…”
Charlotte glanced toward the preserved limb.
“Good. We’re still inside the window.”
She adjusted the biobed settings upward into surgical support mode.
“I’ll need microvascular clamps, osteogenic stabilizers, and a full neural regeneration kit brought to Surgical Bay Two immediately.”
Without waiting, she moved to the severed leg herself, carefully examining the exposed tissue and bone structure with a medical tricorder.
“The separation was caused by a disruptor burst,” she observed. “There’s residual thermal damage along the femoral nerve. If we don’t repair the neural pathways precisely, he may never regain full motor function.”
Charlotte looked back toward the unconscious Andorian lieutenant.
“But he’s keeping the leg.”
She stepped beside the surgical field generator as it activated around the biobed.
“Prep him for cortical sedation and increase cellular regeneration output by twenty percent. I want him stable before I begin reconnecting the vascular channels.”
Then Charlotte took a steady breath and extended her hands over the glowing surgical field.
“Let’s get to work.”
