With their original task complete, they now had a second task, assigned by he colony Governor, to investigate a nearby unclaimed system, where not long before the Ark Angel’s arrival the colony had detected some energy emissions which may have been weapons fire of some kind, but due to local ion storm interference they had no way to be sure, and given their limited local defense craft, waited until the Ark Angel came to request it be checked on now a few days later.
