“At ease Ensign. Don’t strain yourself. So your file doesn’t really tell me much. Could you tell me a bit more about you. I like to know all my new officers that is under me.” He said with a smile and a nod.

Izak did relax his posture and he felt some of the tension leave him in response to the Captain’s remarks. There is only so much one can or should relax in front of their new boss, however.

“Well Sir, my family left Brekka when I was young. I was raised on a freighter and learned the basics of fixing and piloting starships from a young age. It was a good life… but hard. The local criminal element,” ENS Waryn didn’t hightlight the fact that his uncle was part of that element, “was pressing in and making it even harder.”

He shrugged before continuing. “I left my parent’s freighter and worked at my sisters repair shop until I got accepted by Starfleet Academy. The engineering school seemed like a natural fit, though I completed a fair amount of piloting courses in my early years.” There was a slight pause in his answer but ENS Waryn did his best to smooth it over. “Junior year I buckled down and focused on my majors.”

“I managed to finish in the top 2% of my class, and I’m very excited about being assigned to the Ark Angel as my first posting, Sir.”
