ENS Izak Waryn was feeling pretty good.

He’d met up with a couple of other Ensigns that had only been onboard for a couple of months during lunch, and the pair had been giving him a steady stream of tips and anecdotes from their first few weeks onboard. Both were from the Science Department, and both seemed very talkative. Izak wondered if it was a side effect of having to focus when on duty. He knew from experience that research could be tedious, though when it was something you were interested in the hours seemed to fly by.

Izak entered sickbay and looked around. It was busy, but not hectic. He couldn’t even call it controlled chaos. It was just… controlled. Orderly. I wonder what it’s like during an emergency?

He pushed away that thought as he saw a nurse walking in his direction. “Good afternoon, Sir. I’m here for my check-in physical with LT Spenn. I’m ENS Izak Waryn.”
