The quiet rhythm of the Ark Angel’s bridge was broken by the soft chime of the communications console.

“Incoming transmission, Captain,” reported the on-duty comms officer. “Source: civilian Bolian transport vessel Gracious Venture. They’re requesting priority channel.”

A moment later, the main viewscreen flickered to life, revealing a cheerful chaos of blue-skinned faces pressed into frame. The camera jostled slightly as someone in the background waved what looked suspiciously like a homemade Buddy and the Breen banner.

“Ark Angel! Ark Angel!” the lead Bolian—grinning so wide his cheeks nearly eclipsed his eyes—leaned in close to the pickup. “We, uh… may have heard a rumor. About a concert. On your ship. Tonight.” He gestured behind him, and an enthusiastic chorus of whoops and trills filled the channel. “Any chance you’ve got room for a few… dozen more fans?”

The comms channel stayed open, the background noise of excited chatter spilling onto the bridge like an unexpected party invitation.

NL Hale, bridge officer of the watch, shifted slightly in the center seat, dinner hour or not, this wasn’t exactly the kind of call he’d expected to field.

He cleared his throat, straightening his posture before addressing the wall of eager Bolian faces.

“This is the USS Ark Angel,” he said, voice polite but wary. “You’ve reached the bridge of a Federation starship.”

That earned him nothing but louder cheers from the transport’s side, the shaky banner in the background now flapping dangerously close to someone’s head.

The lieutenant pressed on, eyebrows inching upward.

“I… understand you’ve heard a rumor about a concert taking place aboard. I’m going to need you to clarify—are you requesting formal docking clearance to attend this event?”

The lead Bolian nodded so vigorously it was a wonder he didn’t bounce right out of frame. “Dozens of us! We brought snacks!” he declared, holding up what appeared to be a tray of neon-blue pastries to prove his point.

The lieutenant blinked once. Then twice, glancing sidelong at the ops station.

NE Machar, who had been quietly monitoring the cargo bay power feeds, leaned toward her console and then called across the bridge. “Technically, sir, there’s no reason to deny them. Civilian vessel checks out. Docking capacity is available.” She tapped a few keys, scanning again just to be sure. “If command approves, they could be slotted in without issue.”

The viewscreen filled with cheers at her words—someone in the back started a chant of “AR-K AN-GEL! AR-K AN-GEL!” while the banner tilted dangerously close to toppling its bearer.

Hale exhaled through his nose, rubbing the bridge of it briefly. “Wonderful,” he murmured under his breath, before straightening again.

“Very well, Gracious Venture,” he said, tone carefully neutral. “Stand by while we… coordinate arrangements.”

He shot a look back to Machar, a ghost of a grin tugging at the corner of his mouth. “Looks like word’s gotten out.”

OOC: What a fun thread! I can’t believe none of the bridge crew chimed in and you had to answer it yourself!
