It was the third day of the USS Ark Angel having been back at Starbase 243 for resupply, repairs and the crew enjoying some much deserved down time when Captain Ciaran Donoghuei’s combadge chirped.

The Ark Angel had just arrived to Starbase 243 when he heard the request from the Admiral. He stood up from his captain’s chair and looked at his XO. “Commander T’Shara you have the bridge.” He then left the bridge and headed towards Transporter Room 1. It took a few minutes but then he got to transporter room 1. He looked at the transporter chief and said, “Please beam me down to the Starbase 243. Thank you.”

After arriving on the transporter pad on the starbase, he nodded at the transporter cheif and exited the transporter room. Ciaran had been around on the starbase a number of times and he knew his way around. He knew how to get to Admiral Stones’s office. He arrived at the Adminral’s office and he rang the bell. He wanted to make sure he kept it proper with the Admiral.

“Enter.” Came the curt reply and after the doors whooshed open, Captain Donoghuei saw the Admiral set a pad down on his desk as he looked up. “Come on in, Captain. Have a seat.”

After Ciaran walked in, he heard what the Admiral said and then responded with, “I will take a seat. I am assuming I am here for the Ark Angel’s next assignment?” He then took at a seat and waited for a response from the Admiral. Ciaran assumed this was important as they were called back from their previous mission early, even before picking up the colonists.

“Indeed. We’ve received reports by the First Federation of a ghost ship name SS Kringle. The SS Kringle was a joint venture between the First Federation and Earth and went missing in 2101. The ship appears to be weaving out of normal space and a time-dilated quantum sub-space. The First Federation does not have sensors advanced enough to zero in on the ship. This is partly a diplomatic mission, Captain. You are to head out to the last sighting of the Kringle where a First Federation ship will meet you. Find out what you can of the Kringle, see if it can get to stay within our space so the First Federation can tow her home.”

Ciaran was curious about how this ship worked. He was going to have to do some research to hear about what the ship is and what originally happened to it. He then asked the Admiral, “Do we have any details put together on this ship? I can do some research on my own but if you have something put together, I would love to read over it. If not, I can put together my own data if needed and get it out to my senior staff.” He thought this was very different but it would be very interesting.

The Admiral shrugged, “It is a First Federation freighter. So more then likely similar to our freighters though not as advanced.”

Ciaran through to himself, that was not a ton to go with or even information about where it might be or what not. He wanted to ask but he assumed the data has been already sent to the Ark Angel so there was no need to ask at this point. He then responded to the Admiral and said, “Thank you, Admiral. Hopefully this will go smoothly and we will be able to rescue the ship.” He knew he was going to need to gather some data before having a brief with his senior staff so he would be able to answer some questions. As he stood up and left the Admiral’s office, he started hitting items on his data pad in order to pull up as much data as he could to start putting together a outline of the Kringle and the system it was last seen in and what data had been gathered while the ship had been in the current timeline. He knew the crew was going to be very confused if they were able to pull it into the current time frame. He also thought of the appropriate ways to interact with the crew in hopes he would be able to. He knew he was going to have to come up with a story as well as potentially a name for the vessel or what they were doing to not alarm the crew of the Kringle too much upon initial contact. It took him a few minutes to arrive back to the stationed Ark Angel.
