Ciaran had arrived back on the Ark Angel and was ready to get everyone ready to go with this new mission. He then tapped his comm badge and said =/\=All Command staff and Department heads please report to the Captain’s ready room. I have some announcements along with some information about the Ark Angel moving forward.=/\= After doing this, he went ahead and went into the Ready Room and went and sat down. He had his POADD ready and uploaded all the data to the main ship’s computer along with a number of PADDs for everyone. He then grabbed the PADDs for all the folks who should be in the meeting and sat them on the table in front of the chairs. He expected 5 other folks showing up for the meeting so he had 5 PADDs sitting in front of chairs in the ready room. He waited for everyone to gather.

T’Shura had been on the bridge familiarizing herself with the stations and the officers manning them when the Captain’s order came over the comm so she did have far to go. She entered the room and nodded to Donoghuei before making her way down the long side of the table to the chair at his immediate right. She stopped and said simply, “Captain.” She waited to the response to her greeting before she would sit.

Ciaran saw T’Shura walking in and nodded as she walked in. He responded, “Commander, thank you for joining. It looks like you are the first crew member to arrive. Please sit down and review the PADD on the table.” He then continued reading through the PADD a second time just to confirm he understands everything and was ready to address the senior staff when the meeting started.

T’Mor was a few minutes later than the Commander, having come from the science labs. She entered, gave a nod and acknowledged both of her superiors,

“Captain, Commander,”

Then took a seat at one of the chairs toward the farther side of the table. Noticing the PaDD she, took it in hand and quietly read the briefing to herself.

“Thank you, Captain.”T’Shura said as she slid gracefully into the chair and picked up the Padd, which she thumbed on and began to read the information about the upcoming mission. She nodded to T’Mor as the other Vulcan woman took a seat at the table as well.

Kyle arrived at the CO’s ready room several minutes later, “Sorry I’m late, just running a couple of intrusion drills.” The young Englishman clocked the new Vulcan XO and grinned, “Commander, I’m not sure we’ve met yet, Lieutenant Kyle Anders. Chief of Security.”

T’Shura nodded her in acknowledgment to the COS. “Lieutenant.”

Ciaran saw Lt Andres walk in and said, “Lt Anders, you are not late. Just take a seat and take a look at the PADD for some initial details for our upcoming mission. You are not the last person to arrive so you are fine.” He then continued looking at the details of the mission he was provided and continued waiting on the computer to provide details about what he had tried to compile in order to potentially get data which was not provided about the transport.

The Lieutenant arrived and entered. “Sorry, I’m late as well. Just had to get my Junior Officer to work in engineering and get some of the tasks I’ve assigned to him to get completed.” Becket said as he sat down.

IC: The Ark Angel’s computer updated all of the PaDDs with information about the mission. Mission Specialist Owen Carpenter was the civilian in charge of the colony mission, though Star-Fleet was in command of the initial mission given the dangers.

Location was key - there were two candidate systems in the Morvalian Corridor ideal for a comm array with local support given the frequent ion storms. Epsilon Bekarra III-a and III-d were two Class-M moons above their gas giant, though radiation would be a particular concern to check for. Two light-years away in the Corridor was Epsilon Ghez VI, a seemingly Earth-like class-m world that seemed to be a great candidate other than an expected 1.25g. The Ark Angel with its 300 pioneer colonists will construct the initial colony, three Federation transports a few months behind will deliver thousands in an expansion once the infrastructure is in place for them.

One or all of the sites would need to be surveyed for colony suitability including for agricultural potential, diseases and toxins, looking for any potential of intelligent life already on the planet. Any site would need to be secured from dangerous surroundings if present. The initial construction of the colony would need help, and the comm relay would need to be deployed in the system.

“Colonising, it’s been a while.” Kyle said thoughtfully, “And the comms boost is certainly nothing to sniff at.”

T’Mor glanced over the briefing. Her skills would certainly be useful in initial surveys of the sites. And though she would not admit it openly, it was an exciting task. Exploring alien ecologies, with new organisms yet to be discovered. Even the opportunity to work with the modified crop species that were frequently used to power these colonial world. Overall, she was very enthusiastic.

As her eyes lifted up toward T’Shura, however, she kept her expression neutral. As to not offend the new Vulcan commander.

T’Shura for her part was studying the particulars of the mission and what information they had on the three planet sites. This was definitely up her alley way, as the humans might have said. Her scientific tracing and focus had been planetary development. It was different this time though. Her focus this time would not to be focusing on the scientific particulars but instead to focus on the crew and their expertise to complete the mission. She would double check their jackets and keep in mind who would be better where so she could help plan the away teams.

OOC: Sorry for my delay. Had a very busy week last week and a busy weekend. I’m going to start with promotions and new XO.

Ciaran believed everyone was here so he began. He said, “Everyone, thank you for joining me in the ready room. I have a few annoucements before we begin information about the upcoming mission. First, as many of you all know, our previous CO had to step down to due some personal reason. I was the acting CO at the end of our last mission. I have since been promoted to full Captain and moving forward, the new commanding officer of the Ark Angel. Since I am a new captain, I was assigned an XO. We need to welcome T’Shara as our new executive officer for the Ark Angel. She comes with a very impressive background and I believe she will do an awesome job and perform her duties with the most upstanding way. Congrats to T’Shara on becoming the XO.”

OOC: I’m working on a larger post for the mission. I am hoping to have that up today but it depends on how my internet holds up.

“Thank you, Captain.” T’Shura said succinctly as she looked up from her datapadd to listen to his words. She nodded somberly, a Vulcan way of accepting thanks as well.

T’Mor looked up from the PaDD again. It seemed her own introduction was in order.

“I am I Chief Science Officer T’Mor. Welcome aboard.” she said briefly.

“Thank you , Doctor.” T’Shura with a nod to the other Vulcan woman. She then looked back to the Captain to see if he was ready with the mission briefing. She had already perused the material, reviewed the crew and was ready with her own Away Team suggestions.

“Any Security risks covering the colony thus far?” Kyle asked, scanning the PaDD.

“Anything that engineering needs to work on covering the colony? Any rebuilds?” Alex asked because he needs to get his team ready.

“We have three sites that we need to survey,” T’Shura said in answer to both Anders and Becket’s questions.” We do not know which one will suit the colonists needs as of yet. Mr. Ander’s, your job will be to scan each of the sites and catalogue what dangers are inherent, whether environmental, weather related or terrain wise. Science will be surveying the flora and fauna. Mr. Becket, you will need to work with Science, Security and the colonists to make them aware of our findings and help them choose their destination.” She looked over at the CSO. “T’Mor you will need to work with Medical as well to make sure that we are not going to be putting these people into an environment that is too harsh for them. I think it would be a good idea as well to have our Diplomatic Officer work as a liaison with the colonists, so you will be working with her as well. We are in the dark at the moment until we are able to get complete scans of all areas. In choosing a site we also need to consider the area of space around that planet as we are supposed to set up a comm array as well. That will take coordination between Engineering and Science as well.” She looked around at each of the Senior Officers. “Is there anything I have not considered or do you have any questions?”
