T’Mor was still getting used to the responsibilities associated with her new position. Even if she was still only an Acting Chief Science Officer, that was still no excuse for necessary operations to be overlooked. One of those responsibilities was making sure every oncoming science officer was given a proper introduction to the procedures and routines of the ship’s science team. She honestly had no idea where to start, having yet to develop said procedures or routines. But it was something the position was expected to do. So after hurriedly straightening up the notes on her desk, and tucking away her drawing journal out of sight, she made the call,

=^=Ensign Tak,=^= she called in a steady voice =^= Please report to the CSO Office at your earliest convenience.=^=

A little over an hour later, the chime on T’Mor’s door rang, and when the door opened, Tak scampered in, running on all fours for a moment before standing to her feet and giving the CSO a charming (and very toothy) smile. “Greetings. Apologies for how long it took to come, I was in the midst of a fascinating experiment and needed to ensure my lab area was fully cleaned before I was able to leave it.”

“That is perfectly fine, Ensign,” T’Mor said with a slight nod. She didn’t seem too terribly upset at Tak, and quietly hoped she didn’t come across that way. She turned and sat behind the desk, adjusting the chair to be slightly taller. With a gesture she pointed out the other seats opposite the desk,

“Please, have a seat.” she continued, “It is good you seem to be settling in so well. I don’t mean to intrude, and of course you are not required to discuss it if you don’t want to… but what sort of experiment were you running?”
