Buckingham knew when he enlisted in Starfleet that his service would take him on some strange and colourful adventures, but as he cautiously approached the area that the Livestock was kept - Tricorder in hand - he certainly had never envisioned himself performing house calls for some Bulls.

At least this strange experience was one he would be partaking in alone. Thomas smiled to himself briefly as he thought about how these sorts of away details usually make for the best stories a few years down the line.

M’Lene chuckled as she trotted behind Buckingham. “Just another day in the fleet?” She asked with a grin. It wasn’t exactly what she had expected to be doing on her first away mission but at least it was something different. “What’s our plan of action then doc?” She asked curiously.

“This is like no other day I’ve experienced… or anticipated” Buckingham laughed. “Have you any experience with Livestock, Ensign M’Lene?” He asked as they walked along.
Reaching the location of the Livestock Buckingham stopped and visually surveyed the scene. Thomas had never had anything much to do with Farming. This was all very unfamiliar to him. In fact, he struggle to recall the last time, if ever, he had set foot on a farm. He removed his Medical Tricorder from it’s holster on his hip and opened it.
“I suggest a cautious approach. I’ve never been charged at by a Bull and I’d like it to stay that way” Buckingham said, trying to sound as jocular as possible.
“I’ll do a Scan with the Tricorder from a distance and see what I can learn. Perhaps you could find the owners of this Cattle and see what they have to say? Then we’ll decide what the course of action should be.”
Buckingham began his scan as he waited to see if Ensign M’lene agreed with his plan.
